Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Albert Lea - Austin
"It’s right off the highway, clean and felt safe. Booked online but cost was the same direct. They accommodated myself my 13 year-old son and my very large dog. I was however, required to pay a $30 non refundable cleaning fee - which felt fair to me, although my dog is a service animal but I was told it’s not negotiable. This is illegal btw, it violates the ADA & MN state laws. The hot tub was out of order, but the pool wasn’t and the kids loved it. Not mine, but someone’s kids did. Breakfast wasn’t impressive. It was included and did have hot and cold options. The standard make your own waffles, an assortment of bagels and muffins, no toaster, warm potatoes, and dreadfully depressed looking French toast. The juice was out of order. Sad start to the day I’m afraid. Little effort was put into the breakfast choices. Revamp and give people a reason to stay here. Just a thought. The one high point was the pleasant staff. Everyone I encountered asked if I needed help with anything or if they could get me anything. I really appreciated that - I live locally and had a flood in my home, so I was forced to stay two days in a hotel. This hotel is the nicest in town.. but it does need some repairing and things need to be updated a little bit - dine out. If you’re looking for a clean friendly place to stay, I highly recommend them."
