Great place for relaxing and star gazing. Trails were amazingly fun. Lots of wildlife.

Unfulfilled promise

Property # 2944744 Coyote Fire Retreat June 11-14 “Rustic” doesn’t have to mean dirty, deficient, and rundown, but that’s what this cabin was like. Starting on the outside, the screen door was off its track, and wouldn’t stay in; nesting birds had fouled one corner of the deck. Inside, the lighting was so dim that we had use phone flashlights to see in one bedroom. The kitchen was dingy and in need of a deep clean long ago, with pots and pans flaking their nonstick coating onto our food and some ‘clean’ dishes with food stuck to them. Showerstall had pubic hair on the floor, which just added to the terrible sulphur stink of well water. We didn’t trust the expired filter in the fridge water dispenser, so had to go into town to buy jerrycans of water for drinking and cooking. The saggy couch bore no resemblance to the clean, new-looking furniture in the photos, and the high chairs were coming apart. Although we could swear our initial look at this property included wifi, when we arrived we were told no wifi, so we were incommunicado the whole time, but could get a faint signal by walking up the road a bit. A crying shame—this place had so much potential for a peaceful, rustic getaway!
