Welcome to an elegant retreat in the heart of Florence, just steps from the Santa Maria Novella train station and immersed in the enchanting atmosphere of the historic center. This splendid apartment on Via degli Orti Oricellari represents the perfect combination of modern comfort, Tuscan charm, and a strategic location for fully experiencing the city.
The apartment is located in an elegant building and stands out from the first glance for its attention to detail and harmonious spaces. Recently completely renovated, it is furnished with contemporary taste and functionality, while maintaining some distinctive Florentine features, such as parquet floors and exposed beam ceilings, which lend warmth and character to the space.
The living area is spacious, bright, and welcoming, ideal for relaxing after a day exploring museums, artisan workshops, and strolling through the historic center. The living room, furnished with a large sofa and a flat-screen TV, opens onto the dining area, creating a convivial and harmonious atmosphere, perfect for spending time with friends. The kitchen, adjacent to the dining area, is fully equipped and ready to satisfy every need, whether it's a quick breakfast or a home-cooked dinner.
The apartment features two double bedrooms, both elegantly and simply furnished, designed to ensure maximum relaxation. One of the bedrooms has an en suite bathroom with shower, offering extra privacy and comfort. The second bathroom, also with shower, serves the other rooms.
Another highlight of the property is undoubtedly the private terrace, a private and quiet outdoor space where you can enjoy the view of part of the Duomo dome and the top of Giotto's Bell Tower: a perfect spot for a sunset aperitif or an al fresco breakfast. The house also offers a view of the historic Orti Oricellari garden, adding a touch of greenery and tranquility to city life.
It was tricky connecting with the host to get keys to the apartment because we didn't know exactly when we were going to get into Florence, so we wound up having to wait for about an hour to actually get into the apartment. The apartment itself was updated and clean. The building entry and stairwell was filthy with several dead roaches throughout. We didn't have any luck getting the air conditioning to work. The washing machine was a nice perk, but after using it, we didn't have any more water in the apartment for several hours. The location close to the train station was a big plus. Overall, it wasn't terrible, but it wouldn't be my first choice if I returned to Florence in the future.
