Pleasant great house for large groups
Publié le 14 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayThe only complaint was right at the end we were leaving around 9:30 a.m. and we had mowers come in and mow around the property at very high rates of speed. WE were afraid we were going to get hit by flying debris would have been nice if they could have waited 10 minutes for us to leave and then start since check out really wasn't until 11 a.m.

Nice home for large family

Men’s long weekend.
Publié le 5 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayOne of two houses for an annual friends’ getogether. All amenities and features were as advertised. The bedrooms and en suites were clean and comfortable. The living area was attractive and welcoming. This was definitely a great choice for us.

55th Anniversary Celebration
Publié le 2 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayAll of our immediate family (children & grandchildren) attended our weekend celebration with the exception of one grandson who was out of the country. The property was perfect for us. There was plenty of room for everyone to have their own space and yet plenty of room to gather as a group. The group enjoyed the hot tub, the foosball table, the outdoor grill and the beautiful scenery. I don't think we could have chosen a better place for our celebration. The entire family was very pleased with all aspects of the property. Highly recommended!

A Wonderful Winter Getaway
Publié le 1 févr. 2024 sur HomeAwayMy entire family (parents, siblings, children and dogs) spent the weekend at this wonderful family home in Galena. The space was so warm and welcoming and allowed for our large group to all eat, visit, and comfortably be together. Each bedroom having an en suite bathroom was such a game-changer in order for each family to have their own space and privacy. The weather was quite cold and snowy, so we were not able to enjoy the outside amenities, but a trip into town and also to the Owner's Club to swim made up for it. We would absolutely stay here again!

Family Get Away
Publié le 26 nov. 2023 sur HomeAwayThis house is beautiful and perfect for a larger family! We absolutely loved the rustic (very Galena) feel of the home. Everything was clean and organized- especially the hot tub!
Property manager was very responsive and check in was simple, we were even able to get in early! We loved using the fireplace and the kitchen was smaller but was able to handle our cooking for 8 people! Hiking in the area was lovely.
We had the SMALLEST of complaints. We wish that real soap dispensers were provided rather than just hotel mini bars of soap. We also had to go out and purchase dish washer detergent because none was provided. We also wish we had an extra roll of paper towels!
The only other thing I would note is that you will want to be prepared if you’re bringing a toddler into this home. The stairs to get to the lower level in the house are very steep and the railing around it has wide openings at the bottom that a child could easily slip through. The basement is well furnished and you could certainly just hang out down there! This is no fault of the property owners and did not effect my rating of this home, this is just a note to any families traveling with small children.
We absolutely loved staying here and would recommend it and would stay again.

Thank you for your review and for staying at my home. This home is inspected and licensed by our county every year, and the stairway meets or exceeds all applicable safety requirements. Also, I compared the measurement of the height of the stairs to some of the newer homes I rent, and the measurements are the same, so it is no more or less steep than the stairs in newer homes. Also, there are handrails the entire length of the stairway. Likewise, the openings at the bottom also meet all applicable regulations. There is a picture of the stairway on our listing. This review triggered a safety investigation by Vrbo, and after reviewing all the data, they found that the stairs and the railings are in compliance with their safety requirements.
