Tucked into a quiet corner of the popular Jamaica Beach community, Sandy Bottom is a fun and family-friendly holiday home on the Texas coast. Surrounded by a fenced-in yard, lush green grass, and tropical palm trees, you will love spending time on the lawn or soaking up the sun on the deck. With sleeping space for up to 12 people, a charcoal grill, an outdoor shower, and a quick walk or drive to Jamaica Beach, you’ll have everything you need for a stress-free family getaway.

Location: Jamaica Beach community of Galveston, Texas

Beach Access: Less than a 2 minute drive to the Jamaica Beach access point. Cars are allowed to park on the beach!

Community Amenities: Guests have access to the Jamaica Beach community pool for a fee — open Memorial Day - Labor Day — and city park.

WINTER TEXAN RATE: If you’re trying to escape to the Gulf Coast for the winter. Please ask us about our reduced monthly rates October 1 - March 1.

Rent BeachBox: Looking for beach gear for your Galveston getaway? We have you covered! Beach chairs and tents can be ready at the house upon your arrival. Message us for details and rates.

Pest Control: Due to the coastal environment, mosquitoes & seasonal pests may be present. Professional pest control treatments are performed monthly.

WIFI: Free high-speed WIFI is available throughout the home.

Cable: We provide Roku with access to Sling TV for live television channels. Guests are welcome to log into their own Amazon Prime, Netflix, or other streaming service apps as well.

Pet Policy: Up to 2 pets are welcome in our home with a $25 fee per pet. We ask that pets stay off all furniture, are cleaned up after in the yard, and aren't left alone inside the home unless in a crate or kennel. Please message us if you’re planning on bringing your furry friend!

Parking: There is room for up to 4 cars in the driveway.

Party Policy: No parties are allowed at our home. Please look elsewhere if that is the intent of your trip.

Cancellation Policy: All cancellations are subject to a 3% credit card processing fee.

The bright and beachy great room is surrounded by large windows that fill the home with natural light. Driftwood-inspired accents and ocean-themed artwork add to the coastal style. Your whole family will love this comfy room for relaxing after a day at the beach or pool, or strolling along the Strand. Glass doors open out to the sun-drenched deck with views of the peaceful neighborhood. You’ll want to sip your coffee out here in the mornings or relax with a glass of wine while you wait for the burgers to be done for dinner.

The sparkling kitchen is bright white with stainless steel appliances. An L-shaped tiered island has bar seating for four people and plenty of counter space for preparing meals and snacks. A classic subway tile backsplash, vintage-inspired pendant lights, and tons of cabinet storage make this kitchen into a streamlined yet stylish workspace.

Just off the living area are two cheerful bedrooms. The first bedroom has a flexible mix of sleeping options— with a king-size bed and two twin-over-twin built-in bunk beds. The attached full bathroom has a tub/shower combo. The second bedroom on this level is the master suite, complete with a king-size bed set against an antique headboard made from a 100-year old Galveston door. The ensuite master bathroom has a tub/shower combo. A convenient laundry nook is also attached to the master bedroom. A third bedroom on the ground level has two full-size beds.

Gather the whole family together in the evenings to prepare some juicy burgers or a fresh catch on the charcoal grill for dinner. The ground level of Sandy Bottom also has a large octagon picnic table, tons of beach lounge chairs, and an outdoor shower. The fully fenced-in yard makes it safe and stress-free for families with four-legged members or small children. When your crew is ready to hit the sand, the Jamaica Beach access point is a quick walk or drive down the lane. And the excitement of the Galveston Strand and Pleasure Pier is never far from your door.

House rules:
- Guests must be 24+ to book the property.
- One-night stays must be approved.
- Quiet hours are from 10pm-8am.
- Any damages to the house or property during your stay will result in a deduction or additional charge for the resulting repair/replacement cost.
- All pets must be approved by our team, stay off of all furniture, be cleaned up after in the yard, and not left alone inside the home unless in a kennel.
- No parking allowed on lawns, yards, empty grass lots or other neighbors’ driveways, even if their home appears unoccupied.
- Oversized vehicles/trailers are not permitted unless explicit approval has been received from our team.
- Do not turn the AC below 70 degrees. If you do, you will risk the AC unit freezing up, requiring it to thaw out which will result in the home getting extremely warm.
- This community only allows BLACK TRASH BAGS. We provide trash bags under the kitchen sink. Please refrain from using white bags.
- Should an eviction occur due to breaking house rules (noise ordinance violations, excessive guests and/or vehicles beyond the agreed amount), there will be an $850 fine.

The location was good and the property ok. Issues like leaking refrigerator and unlockable outside door were not addressed when submitted. Our group was 8. We could not use the 3rd bedroom because the door didn’t lock (external door) and the portable AC didn’t work. If we were the originally planned 11 people this would have been a problem. The cleanliness of the couch was suspect and the deck had rickety railings. Did we have fun yes. But not the experience I told me group we would have.

Communication and check-in process were a breeze. The location was nice and the neighborhood was quiet. Though after entering, we noticed the house was not completely cleaned; we had to wear shoes because the floors & rug were dirty/sandy. The refrigerator barely worked at all and the kitchen sink had little to no water pressure. Check-in is at 4 to allow time for cleaning, but the cleaners were still there at 5:00. Overall, I wouldn’t rent this location again, but we still made the best of it and enjoyed our stay.

Very roomy property with many beds. Nice fenced yard for the dog. Well equipped kitchen but appliances are all very old. Fridge had no shelves left in door and froze some of our food. Stove does not heat evenly anymore. Flooring has spots that are worn to the subfloor. Could use some Kleenex and toilet paper holders. Price was fair.

First of all...3rd bedroom is downstairs in a cubby hole with no bathroom! You are climbing stairs in the middle of the night if you need to potty! The porch has nails sticking up. Part of the rails are hanging. Beds are super hard!

Great Location

Overall we were really pleased about this stay. The location is great and the house had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable and the layout of the house was nice for a family. The only downside was that the vacuum didnt work to cleannup sand and some of the light switches didnt seem to work properly.

Galveston get away

Love the location of the house and the convenience of the beach. The owner was very responsive and the rates were great. We had 8 adults and one toddler. The house has plenty of beds but the top bunks are not sturdy enough for adults. Overall it was a great experience but there are some basic maintenance items that could be addressed: Disposal smells of dead fish as soon as you turn the water on. The lights flicker in the secondary bathroom when water is running. The ice maker leaks into the refrigerator and creates standing water on the food. Linens and pillows need to be replaced due to use The bathrooms need to be cleaned better

Communication from the time we rented through the app until the last day was excellent, very friendly and helpful, the property was very clean and comfortable. Things that are beyond the structural that made us love it, which is that we could walk to the beach, have coffee in the morning on the porch, the view is beautiful, definitely pet friendly, they were able to run around downstairs while we spent time with the family, these are things that we value a lot, we will definitely be back next summer😊

Was ok but should be listed as a two bedroom. Third bedroom is downstairs and has no bathroom. Flimsy bunk bed. Smells moldy down there. Upstairs was good. Shower handles need Fixen.
