Great Place

The property was great. It felt like a home away from home. It was just far enough from Gatlinburg that it was peaceful, but it was super convenient to run to the grocery store and back.

Location is perfect if you want to get away from the busy of the main drag of Gatlinburg. But close enough to still enjoy the hustle bustle of Gatlinburg. Hosts are very responsive to issues.

Too many spiders all around the hot tub. Did not get to use it. Back porch had spiders everywhere so we couldn’t enjoy the back deck. Other then that. The house is very nice I. The inside. Only the master bedroom has a tv other than the living room. Beds sleeps really comfortably.

Cute house

This house was really cute but very dated. There were little flies (looked similar to fruit flies) all over the place. We killed so many over the weekend and there was still a lot of them. They were in the shower. My guests felt uncomfortable taking a shower because the bugs were resting on the shower floors and walls. We had to put a sheet over the window for privacy in the master bedroom because there were no curtains. No curtains in the master bathroom either which made me feel uncomfortable. Some windows were frosted but not all of them. We arrived at 3:10, which was 10 minutes after check in and the cleaning team was still there for at least 20 minutes after we arrived. She did a poor job cleaning. There was hair in the bathroom floor and on the bathroom sink. There was a dirty dish sponge with food in it sitting on the sink that smelled bad. There were a lot of holes in the comforter in the master bedroom. It needs to be replaced. The ceiling fan was hanging in the master bedroom. I was concerned that it would fall on me while I was sleeping. The owner was really nice. He allowed my caterer to come early to set up food prior to my arrival so I really appreciate how he accommodated my request. This was my first time renting a property for travel. I usually stay in hotels and I think I will stick to hotels for travel from now on.

It’s unfortunate that this was your first experience with a VRBO. Your experience is definitely not typical. There are a lot of issues you mentioned that really should have come to our attention during your stay. Had you brought them to our attention, we would have done everything in our power to rectify every issue mentioned immediately. A comforter with holes, bugs in the drain, ceiling fan that looks like it will fall, a home that is not clean, these are all absolutely unacceptable issues we could have and would have helped you with. Even the window privacy is something we could have helped you with if you had said something. In a hotel the process is the same, as in you won’t have issues resolved if you don’t let them know what the issues are. Please understand though that hotels have many staff members there all the time. VRBOs do not have that luxury since ones like this one are stand alone homes. The benefit of that is you get the luxury of a whole home, fully stocked kitchen, deck, etc., and you don’t have to share space with anyone else if you don’t want to, which has many benefits including being able to keep distance from others during covid if you are someone who needs to be extra careful. If you do chose to VRBO in the future please let your hosts know immediately if there is a problem. This is how you separate the good ones from the bad ones. All the best in your future travels.
