The location is extremely convenient, walkable distance to George Town tourist trails and night market. Surrounded by a few shopping malls, and bus station is just downstairs. However, quite a lot homeless around after 9pm at night.

Jen is under Shangrila group and all things are up to standard. Yet, cleanliness / housekeeping will need to be improved as some tiny hairs can be found in the bath tub. Staff are ok polite but not too welcoming to guests. There is a tricky thing to use the TV remote control, and we have waited for a long time at first for someone to clarify the use. We suggest the management to put a note inside the room for guest easy reference. In fact, we enjoyed staying in Shangrila hotels in the past, but our recent stay would suggest improvement in overall management.

Excellent stay, still convenient although no longer directly linked to the mall. You need to cross a slightly busy junction to get to first avenue mall. Near all the yummy food location, easily walkable - all within 5-10 minutes walk. Live band at the bar every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Will stay again next time

Great Stay

Hotel staff were great especially the concierge and restaurant staff. Helpful and very knowledgeable. Staff spoke English very well my Malay is terrible. Room large and well appointed. Pool nice. I would stay here again. Close to the things I needed.

Had a good stay at this hotel over Christmas. Room was spacious, staff service was excellent. Despite the breakfast room being very busy, the staff there always find time to chat with us and found us (party of 4) a nice table. A long walk to Armenian Street and the Esplanade. But with he heat, easier to catch a Grab as the fares are so low. Will recommend this hotel for a family holiday.

Easily one of the worse hotel we’ve stayed so far. Not worth the price, only benefit was it was central and service was friendly. Stayed in family room, the sofa bed was put in weird angle, room became so tight it was hard to walk pass, the bathroom got mould everywhere on shower area, and u have to climb on top of bathtub to shower, hazard waiting to happen, the tap was too deep, from the sink, everytime u wash hand, the water splash everywhere.. the shower screen doesnt cover the area, everytime u shower, the floor definitely wet.. and have to put the slippers a bit far or it will be wet.. furniture look cheap and the sofa bed that i slept on was the worse of the worse, it was not even, half top was higher than the half down and the housekeeping didnt even help to fix it, or myb it was already broken in the first place. so many other thing if i have to mention one by one, the good thing abt the room was the slippers.. it was thick and comfy. I wont come back to this hotel even if its free.

Great stay!

The room is quite spacious and clean. Hotel staffs are friendly and helpful. Like the location of the hotel, walkable distance to some malls and eatery. Will definitely stay again when coming to Penang.

This is a pretty decent hotel, about what I would expect for a four star. Despite being in a busy area, it wasn't overly loud. The room itself was comfortable and they have great complimentary slippers. Check in took a lot longer than I would have liked, but beyond that, I had no issues.
