Welcome to Little Moon, your cozy one-room lakefront cabin tucked along the shores of Lake of Egypt in Goreville, Illinois. This tiny cabin is simple, peaceful, and perfectly placed right on the water. Designed for couples and flexible enough for a tiny family, it offers everything you need for quiet mornings, lake days, and evenings under the stars.

Little Moon embraces true tiny-home living — compact, comfortable, and full of charm. The open layout features a comfy full-size mattress and a twin sleeper sofa for an additional guest. Large windows bring in natural light and beautiful lake views. You can enjoy the air conditioning on warm days or open the windows to hear the soft night sounds of the water and wildlife.

The kitchenette includes a sink with running water, mini-fridge, toaster oven with griddle, microwave, coffee maker, and the essentials for preparing simple meals. It’s perfect for easy breakfasts before a day on the lake or relaxed dinners after hiking nearby trails.

Inside, you’ll find a small bathroom setup, and just outside, a private outdoor shower — a guest favorite. Rinse off after swimming, then relax on the deck while your hair dries in the lake breeze.

Step outside and you’re truly in your own little waterfront retreat. Little Moon sits on a lakefront lot with its own small dock where you can fish, watch jumping fish at sunset, or park your boat. Two small decks overlook the water, offering the perfect spot for morning coffee, afternoon reading, or stargazing at night. A firepit near the water invites slow evenings under the sky.

For lake fun, a canoe, kayaks, paddleboards and paddleboats are available for your use, and you’re welcome to bring your own fishing poles — or use ours. Wildlife is part of everyday life here, from deer in the trees to birds over the water.

Little Moon is pet friendly and includes WiFi for those who need to stay connected, though many guests choose to unplug and simply enjoy the quiet surroundings. Spa-La-La is available as an add-on experience, and if you’re traveling with friends or family, we also have other rentals nearby.

The neighborhood is quiet, safe, and perfect for walking or biking. You’ll be close to great hiking, biking, climbing, wineries, and Shawnee National Forest adventures. There is no public transit, so a personal vehicle is recommended.

We offer self check-in for convenience and are available by phone or text if you need anything we are available to fix any issues.
