Eric was a fantastic host, quick responses and everything was exactly as described. The house was immaculate and had literally anything you could ever think of. I stayed with a bunch of friends to celebrate a birthday and we wanted a nice relaxing weekend in. We couldnt have had a better weekend!
My husband and I spent a long weekend here with our toddler and newborn - this beautiful home had everything we needed and more! Our two-year old had so much fun in the pool and the house was so well-equipped for kids. We really enjoyed being able to walk into town. The house is conveniently located next to a playground and is within walking distance to a grocery store and tons of great restaurants and coffee shops. Eric and Charla were very responsive to our questions throughout our stay. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Pros: Modern style, pool and deck, Frame T.V."s, new appliances, CAC, very workable kitchen. Off and on street parking. excellent WIFI reception, walkable to vilaage was excellent, small park very close for my grandson, local IGA supermarket, great coffee shop in Aldo's, nice restaurants, bakery and ice cream parlors. Nice golf course that is well maintained. Greenport is a terrific old fishing village modernized.
Cons: House is too high tech for us older folks to get used to. Bring your vpasswords for streaming services on the T.V. "s, their is no cable per say., rules for sanitation and recyclable pick up and special bags needed at our expense was annoying. Contact with owners was only by the VRBO app and took a while for contact, propertyt manager indicated he had not been in contact with owners for several months and that i should contact the owners, if possible, pool cover to close had a problem closing and pool company said they needed permission to repair so we left it as we got it, open. I guess my CONS are minor but for the expense someone should meet you at the $PM check in time nand go over the various operations of the home. Lastly the cleaning service can do a little better job of sanitizing before new renters get there.
All in all these were minor inconveniences as our small family enjoyed themselves. Young vacationers would love the place on a quiet block.
We had such an amazing stay! The house was perfect for our family and had everything you could need (especially with a baby girl!). It was so nice to be able to easily walk into town, go to nearby playgrounds etc... I'm already thinking about booking again for next summer.
Perfect location to fully enjoy the shop/restaurants, waterfront and beach, farms and wineries.
The house was perfect, as described, and the outside space with large covered porch and pool made staying in just as fun as venturing out. The hosts were fully responsive throughout the booking process and in answering any other questions.
We loved staying at this house on 2nd Street. Short walk to town with great shops, restaurants and a grocery store one block away. The house is beautiful and we loved the open concept on the main floor. So nice to have a washer and dryer as well. The backyard is a good size too. It is the perfect set up for young kids...highchair, baby gates, baby proofing, some toys and we found a great playground near the Fire Station. The beach is also close by. In my opinion, the house is in a transitional neighborhood, it being one of the nicest on the block but we did feel safe walking around at night with our young kids. Overall we had a great stay and look forward to going back to Greenport next summer!
My husband and I rented this house for three days. We spent one day alone, then my daughter & son in law joined us with their 4 and 18 month old. The house is a perfect retreat for couples, perfect for a family. It was VERY clean, comfortable and easy. The appliances â- kitchen/laundry â are great!
Master bed is very comfortable and closet is great. Love the barn door on closet.
Itâs an easy walk into town. We never used our car.
My husband and I rented bikes and rode to Orient Point. Itâs a lovely way to spend the afternoon. FYI, itâs mostly flat.. And, as soon as you get up to the main thoroughfare, thereâs a bike lane.
When my grandchildren came the gates on the stairs became the best part of the house!
Priceless. Made life easy.
The four year old spent half the day on the carousel in town. We also traveled back and forth on the ferry to shelter island just for kids to ride ferry. For them it was a treat.
The owners allowed me to bring my non shedding sheepadoodle. I was grateful. And except when she was left alone the first night and scratched Charla and Ericâs door, it was perfect for her. The whole area is dog friendly.
Most importantly, when i told them about the scratching, they were gracious and reassuring. I felt terrible.
The house instructions were clear and detailed. The only confusing part was the yellow bags. The trash bags were in a yellow box. That needs to be clarified. We went to a number of the restaurants that they recommended. All great.
Canât remember if Bruce and Son was on the list. Great breakfast/lunch place AND they take reservations, have some outdoor seating and high chairs.
If the backyard was completed ( deck etc) I think Iâd want to move in. Thatâs the only thing that I would add to this wonderful home.
Pool would be fabulous. Donât know if zoning allows.
On the way home I stopped at several of their farm they recommend. It was well worth the zigzagging. We had a great weekend and would definitely go back.
the House has an open floor plan and everything is new. Very comfortable and decent size back yard.
I am from Greenport and returned for
My family reunion. The house has everything you need for a stay. Kitchen is fully equipped. Comfortable beds. Excellent temperature control in house. It was actually quite cool when we arrived so opened the windows. Then became very humid last day and turned on the AC and it cooled down fast. outside grill and table. Decent size yard. Everything is new in the house and it was very clean.
The only suggestion is that they might want to get a second recycle can for outside. The one they had was full when we got there so it was overflowing after we added our recycles to it.
