Wonderful location
Publié le 16 avr. 2023 sur HomeAwayI loved the remoteness of this wee cottage. If you’re looking for somewhere quiet, with lots of lovely walks, then this is ideal. The cottage is powered by a generator, which you can hear but soon get used to. Make sure you bring everything you need, it’s a fair trek to the nearest shop! My dog ran around the forest all day long and slept all night and I chilled out with a glass or two of wine.
I hope to visit again in the not too distant future.

Wonderful Wilderness
Publié le 24 sept. 2022 sur HomeAwayJust perfect for a “get away from it all” break. Lovely cottage, cozy with all we needed. Amazing setting and so peaceful. Our dogs enjoyed the walks in the forest. Would definitely come back again.

Disgusting stinking horrific
Publié le 20 juin 2022 sur HomeAwayWe stayed inside the property for 5 minutes as the house was not as described; it was advertised as a one bedroom property however the bedroom, living room and kitchen were all in the one room. The place was extremely smelly, sticky and very unhygienic. The property is advertised as being able to accommodate up to 5 pets, and as this is the case the cleanliness level should be exemplary. This is also not suitable for pets and young children as there is no enclosed garden area and the property is right next to a railway line. I complained to the owner who told me that if I posted any negative feedback he would take me to court in Wick to potentially sue me for £3000 for ‘false’ feedback. He also stated that the property was for 2 adults and 2 children, however this is advertised online as being for 4 ‘people’. I feel it’s my duty to let the public know of my horrific experience, travelling for over 4 hours to stay for less than 5 minutes due to the dire state of the property. I have requested a full refund, and as of yet, this has fallen on deaf ears!

We are saddened that you chose to only stay 5 minutes - perhaps your minds became unbalanced after a long journey. We had another cottage nearby with a separate bedroom which you should have chosen, and which we could have swapped over for you if you had only asked or communicated with us in some way.. Badnaheen Cottage was actually 2 semi-detached houses with six separate bedrooms but we knocked them all through to make an extremely stylish and modern open-plan holiday cottage. We strongly refute any suggestion that the cottage was displaying anything less than impeccable cleanliness (and an average of 4.5 stars out of 5 over the past 3 years shows that outstanding cleanliness is very high on our priorities). It is sad that some people in this world are so lowly evolved and mean-spirited that they choose to write falsehoods on here, just because they struggled to read the property description and look at the photos!! Thankfully, most of our guests have been an absolute pleasure to host.

Amazing break

The cottage was clean and we had anything we needed.
Our hosts were welcoming and helpful.
Very much worth 11 hours drive!

Publié le 10 août 2021 sur HomeAwayWe spent 3 days, 3 adults & a dog, and this was exactly the peace & quiet we were looking for. Stunning, dramatic landscape, wildlife galore, lochs and beautiful views where ever you look.
The cottage is lovely, clean and cosy with everything you need. Being able to watch the deer & birds of prey from the cottage was amazing.
Thank you to our host, Teppy, very friendly and helpful. Who met us on route to the cottage and also helped when we went off course while out fishing. Big thank you for that xx

The long single track road was a pleasure to drive, wildlife galore and plenty of photo opportunities.
We were met and shown our cottage, the location is out of this world and the cottage, cosy and wild, had all we needed.
Thank you for great communication, and a fantastic adventure, we never laughed as much as we did, driving down the tracks.

Exactly what we needed ❤️
Publié le 19 juill. 2021 sur HomeAwayEven though it took us a 12 hours drive to get to the cottage, we would do it all over again in a blink of an eye. We are a family of 4, two adults + two young children + our giant breed dog (found it hard to find a place for him due to his size 😔- this place had no concerns about, size or bread, which was an absolute winner in our case) We had enough room all of us. We were surprised to find the kitchen 's cupboards filled with supplies (emergency supplies), so definitely a bonus if you run out of something, as the nearest shop is about 1 hour away. The cottage has everything you need and it is indeed in the middle of nowhere and you don't see humans 😁The walks and drives are endless. We have found lochs( that were not even on the map) with sandy beachs and shallow water that was warm and the children splashed all day in them. An absolutely amazing experience. Would highly recommend the place (obviously to like minded people as it might not be everybody's cup of tea). Thank you and really hoping to return soon 🤗

Family Holiday with Dogs

The staff (Teppy) were friendly and welcoming will definitely book again. Lots of great locations for walking the dogs
