Perfect fit for family gathering.
Publié le 17 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayHome was well stocked and had everything needed to prepare meals and be comfortable. The foosball and ping pong table were a hit. Woods are teeming with life and the lake is perfect. We used the canoe and kayaks provided and our whole family really enjoyed the stay and felt at home. It is a short walk from the house to the water so getting the boats there is a bit of a challenge. Me and my teenage sons carried them down no problem and they had wheels to strap to them for easy transport. Just something to be aware of. Big fire ring was perfect and our kids had frog catching contests each night. Catherine and her husband were a delight and I would definitely stay here again.

Quiet Getaway

Property is wooded and peaceful.
One suggestion though - please put window coverings in bedrooms and front room.

Thanks for your review. I love that you enjoyed the beds and stocked essentials. We are surrounded with a forest of trees and beauty. We love having our guests experience that. I do provide a few eye masks for those who want to block out the sun. Sorry, this was a surprise. I do describe having lots of windows, as we like to bring the outdoors in. I will consider having more eye masks available for sure.

I am so glad you enjoyed the property. Yes, It has been a rainy season and the water levels are higher than usual. I encourage all my guests to call or text with any concerns or question. There are other places on the property to launch kayaks or canoes besides the Corp park.

Friends get away

Beautiful Property

We absolutely love the lake and the availability of two kayaks and a canoe to use. Our kids had a great time playing in the woods and playing with the hammock. We especially appreciated the upstairs patio where we spent most of our time. Catherine, our host, was super considerate and responsive. Even though there are only two bathrooms the upstairs bathroom has a separate area for the toilet and a separate area for the tub so it felt like much more than two bathrooms. I'd recommend this property for anyone looking to get away. Beautiful place.

Great place to watch the eclipse
Publié le 23 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe house is very secluded, in the woods a short down a steep path to the lake. The downstairs was open and a nice large space for everyone to interact. We cooked all our meals in the kitchen and enjoyed the fire pit outside in the evenings. We did find the kitchen limited in equipment for the kind of meals we were cooking for 6 people, so if you want to do more than grill we recommend bringing your own equipment. Notable things lacking were a whisk, a pot large enough for pasta, dry measuring cups, and sheet pans. I would also recommend bringing your own knives. The screened-in porch upstairs was a plus and we did play foosball.

I love that you were able to experience the viewing of the eclipse at our property. What a wonderful memories to take with you. Sorry about the kitchen items, my kitchen does have these items on the norm. I do my best to provide a fully stocked kitchen. I also encourage my quests to call or text if they have any questions or concerns. Had I known I would have provided these things for you as I know how important family time and meals are very much a part of the experience.

Second time better than the first

Wonderful location, a short hike to Lake Anquilla and not too far from Lake Whitney. The cabin is kept very clean with everything needed for time away - board games, DVDs, kitchen and cookware available, and plenty to do outdoors.

Off the beaten path
Publié le 26 févr. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe stayed here while attending supercross in Arlington. We prefer to stay at places outside of the city limits. We were able to visit Waco, Arlington, and Fort Worth during our stay making this home the perfect location if you're wanting to travel to multiple cities during your stay. House was clean and the perfect atmosphere for us. Also enjoyed having fires in the fire pit at night. Would definitely stay here again and everyone we traveled with also agreed to that.

Great stay
