Publié le 26 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayFirst of all, if I had to rate communication with the property manager, I would give him 5 stars for helping us out with our move to better accommodations. The room on the 38th floor was great with an incredible view, but that being said, my wife and I are in our 70s and there was only one functional elevator and at times that elevator was either inoperable or could only go up to the 20th floor. When it was fully functional it was fine but there is no way we could walk up or down 18 floors to use the elevator on the 20th floor. We were told that on windy days the cables could get tangled, so it was not safe for the elevator to go higher than the 20th floor. With that in mind we felt very uncomfortable using it especially when the second elevator was broken and had been for quite a while. Other visitors that had been there since the prior week stated that the only elevator had been working on and off all week and they made many walking trips up and down the stairs. The pool was also a disappointment. It was not properly maintained. The picture posted on VRBO fails to show the leaves and debris in the water. Again, I admire the property manager for taking us out of that room and putting us in a much better building to celebrate our 50th anniversary vacation. As for the first room, there is no way in hell I would stay in that building again.

Aloha John, there was nothing wrong with the new elevator in WMC during your visit. Before you arrived, I told you that we only have one elevator running because the other new elevator is still waiting for the state inspection at the end of April before it starts running. The only time they would shut the elevator down from 21 floor to 40 floor when the wind reaches to over 40 miles per hr because this elevator is facing the bad side of the wind but this problem will be fixed after we start running the second new elevator. I didn’t have to put you in a different condo in the middle of your stay because according from the forecast we didn’t have over 40 miles strong wind to hit us, there was only one time during your stay the building manager had to shut down the elevator for around 2 hours with service memo in the elevator day before, it was because they had to repair one part in the second new elevator before the inspection. I’m the owner and manager who put you in my other condo in the middle of your stay in WMC. The reason why because I wanted to make sure you have a nice vacation and feel comfortable. I believe my hospitality and effort should deserve more than 3 stars from you and there was nothing bad happened during your visit in both of my condos. Starting from next week, we will have 2 new elevators running in the building. Chris

Very nice location within walking distance of everything you would need. Added bonus having a place to park, w/d in condo, and a kitchen. Highly recommended. Thank you!

Great location but beware of elevator issues.
Publié le 9 févr. 2024 sur HomeAwayThis condo is in a great location with beautiful views. Kitchen perfect for making breakfast and packing lunches for the day. Free parking was very good to have for our rental car. Chris was very helpful. Future guests really need to be aware though of the elevator issues. Only one elevator has been in use for a long time and when it gets windy, the elevator will only run up and down to the 17th floor. For 4 days we had to take the stairs from floor 17-38. One day the elevator was not working at all and we had to do the full 38 floors. So if you have health issues that would not allow you to do this you just need to be aware that there is this risk when it is windy.

Aloha Laura, I’m sorry for the inconvenience. The reason why we only have one elevator running because we are in the middle of installing another brand new elevator and it should be done the beginning of March. Also, the reason why the new elevator has to be turned off when it is super windy because they don’t want the cable to get caught and break by the string wind until the other elevator is finished, and then we will be able to build a platform underneath the elevator to prevent the cable to get stuck and damage from strong wind. The spot is much quieter than downtown Waikiki, we always felt safe and were close to restaurants and shopping. It was an easy 10 minute walk to Ala Moana Shopping and 20 minutes to Waikiki. The condo is also on the Pink Line bus/tram service.
Accommodation was clean and comfortable with all inclusions as listed.
The bed was very comfortable, the shower provided excellent water pressure and temperature, and the ktchenette was well equipped. The air conditioning was comfortable and a pedestal fan also provided.
The view was expansiver with a large window that could be opened to let in the afternoon breeze.
The parking space is secure and close to the lift.
There was still only one lift operating, though they were currently working on it (Jan 2024). This was not an issue, even being on the 38th floor. 'Long waits' were really not that long at all.
Highly recommended for short or long stays.

Beautiful view, beautiful place.
Publié le 6 janv. 2024 sur HomeAwaySuper clean and spacious. It’s my second stay and I’ll go back if possible. Ocean and mountain view, perfect view of the Friday night fireworks. Well appointed and even has a washer/deyer in the unit.
Down side is the elevator, as there’s only one and the unit is on the 38th floor, but it’s really fast. They’re working on the other one.
