We had absolutely no issues. We read parking is bad, but we didn’t have a car so not an issue. Yes, the building is old. But it was clean. The location is what made it great. It seemed a little sketchy right away, but the more we were there the less worried we were. And it is truly 2 blocks to the beach! If you are just looking for somewhere to sleep for a night or 2, this will do the job! If you want somewhere to hang out over the course of a few days, might not be what you are looking for. All depends how high your standards are! For us, we just needed somewhere to check into late in the day, then we walked around to check out the area and have a bite to eat and drink. The next day we were out exploring all day and came back to sleep, then checked out the next morning. So it did the trick and didn’t break the bank!

So we just returned after 8 days in Honolulu staying the Central Hotel. (25Dec 2025-02 Jan) GOOD: - Location, Location, Location, comfy bed, good AC, TV works, free beach stuff BAD- no sheet or towel change in 8 days ! Hot water takes 10min to warm up and that's been kind. Very Very noisy surroundings from food trucks right on the premises, extractor fans and power generators running all day. BEWARE the 4.30am dump truck collections in the area. This goes on for min 30min each day. other than that it was a good stay :)

Staying at Waikiki Central Hotel was great. It was only a minute's walk to the beach and shops. My only complaint is they need ice trays in every room - - - they don't have an ice machine.

I use public transportation a lot especially going to dennys for breakfast any bus will take you there plus across the street from dennys went to honolulu zoo the have 2 skunks on display they are brothers name artnek and jet they don't get along so they take turns one at a time
