Extremely disappointing experience at Wayfinder Waikiki. Despite being a premium-priced hotel listed on Amex Hotel Collections, the service was shockingly unprofessional. My girlfriend and I arrived after a long early flight, and although we called the hotel multiple times (10:09am, 1:20pm, 1:27pm), our room was still not ready by 2:30pm. While the standard check-in time is 3:00pm, we had specifically requested early check-in in advance—a common accommodation many hotels are willing to make. To make matters worse, we saw other guests checking in around that time—some even earlier—which made it clear that other rooms were available. Yet we were left waiting without any effort to prioritize our request. We were exhausted, just hoping for a quick shower and some rest, but were met with dismissive and unempathetic service at the front desk. One staff member, Dillen, stood out in the worst way. Instead of offering any real assistance, she simply repeated that the room wasn’t ready—showing no initiative to help or escalate the issue. Her cold and indifferent attitude made an already frustrating situation feel worse. The room itself was disappointing: it was extremely noisy due to street traffic and lacked basic amenities like a microwave. We had to specifically request one, and even that took extra time than initially promised to arrive. For a hotel in this price range, this is laughable. I paid $757 for 3 nights, and this is one of the most expensive hotel I’ve stayed—yet the

Loved staying here, didn’t catch the night shift front desk guy name but he was honestly the best! He worked with us getting a room two nights that we just walked up to see if they had any available. Would definitely recommend staying here.

We recently stayed at Wayfinder Waikiki for 5 nights and had a fantastic experience. The hotel has a unique, boutique vibe with stylish decor and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, always available to offer local recommendations or assist with requests. Our room was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed with great attention to detail. We especially appreciated the on-site amenities like the pool area, bar, restaurant and coffee shop all perfect for relaxing after a day exploring the island. Location-wise, it’s conveniently situated within walking distance to the beach, restaurants, and shops, but tucked away enough to feel like a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle. Overall, Wayfinder Waikiki offers great value and a memorable stay. We’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Honolulu and would gladly return!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel hosted a variety of events for guests though we were too exhausted to partake. They did look like a lot of fun. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location was only 4 blocks to the beach, but far enough to avoid a lot of the traffic and crowds. I'm also pretty addicted to their horchata lattes.
