Cozy house on the river, enjoy the view or fish right off the river bank

The Trout River Getaway is a cozy house directly on the beautiful Trout River, nestled under the canopy of big old shady trees. Watch the pelicans, herons, seagulls, or osprey right in front of you and watch the sunsets or do some barbecue on the deck in the back. Enjoy a bit of an "old Florida feel" under the old gorgeous oaks and magnolias or fish right off the river bank. The house is newly renovated with modern interior. Access to I-95 and I-295 is round the corner. The location is close to the airport, the nice parks along Jacksonville coastline, the Zoo, downtown, the stadium and the beaches.

The house is super beautiful and comfortable...to forget the city and experience an encounter with nature, it's great...the owner is super friendly...you can have a barbecue next to the river and, most importantly, you can fish, and there are some very good fish...in general, it's incredible...I'm already preparing my next trip soon...I recommend it 200%.

Relaxing River View Cottage

Needed a couple of down days before heading home after a very long and busy road trip. This place gave us exactly what we needed to rest and relax. Loved the outside privacy and especially having our morning coffee on a small bench near the river. We had everything we could need and more. Thanks Petra for your attention to detail.

I enjoyed my stay. The only problem I had I could not fish. The water keep going back when I wanted to fish. It would be nice if you added a pier. I know you cannot control the tides. That's I still give you the highest rating. Thank you!

Nice little get away

The property was clean and just the right size for us. It had everything we needed for a two-night stay near the water. We plan to fish and chill right off the back of the property. But unfortunately with rain for two days and the low tides fishing was a bust.

Back to Jacksonville

We had to bring our son back to Jacksonville for a doctors follow up visit. His passion is fishing & he enjoyed fishing from the bank when the tide was up. I enjoyed sitting in the sun & reading & looking over the beautiful river or sitting at the dining room table working and/or eating overlooking the river. This home is a peaceful place!

Great Location on the trout River, beautiful little spot however the neighborhood is working on improvement so there is some eclectic culture going on. It’s an easy enough drive to any of the hotspots, including downtown and going to Savannah. Nothing nearby:walkable regrading food, coffee etc., but the river lot makes up for any of that.

Herrlicher Urlaub

Unsere Zeit in Florida war wundervoll, besonders weil wir uns sofort wie „Zuhause“ gefĂŒhlt haben. Den Fluss vor der Terrasse zu haben und tĂ€glich vom FrĂŒhstĂŒckstisch Pelikane und Eichhörnchen und mehr beobachten zu können, war herrlich. WĂ€hrend unseres Aufenthalts ( Jan-April) fingen die Azaleen rund ums Haus an zu blĂŒhen und alles wurde grĂŒner. Die Lage ist prima, wir konnten zig Naturetrails in der Umgebung in und um Jacksonville schnell mit dem Auto erreichen und bewandern - auch der Zoo ist nah. Petra (die Vermieterin) ist supernett und immer hilfsbereit. Im Haus ist alles vorhanden, was man so braucht, WĂ€sche waschen, kochen und backen war kein Problem und mit einem Glas Wein auf der Terrasse zu sitzen (mit Blick auf den Trout River) war ein echtes Highlight. FĂŒr uns war schnell klar: wir kommen wieder! Wir freuen uns schon jetzt aufs nĂ€chste Jahr und auf gesellige SchwĂ€tzchen mit Petra :-)) Danke fĂŒr diese schöne Zeit!
