It was great as usual. We just didn’t know the construction was still ongoing. There were several dumpsters in parking area and construction equipment parked in several spots along with temporary fencing

Great location. Units are old and ac and heating unit did not work .Only the vent fan ran. Expected more Holiday Inn. First visit to the island.

There was no ice available, I walked the whole premise looking for a machine that had ice. no notice about reservations on restaurant, shampoo and conditioner empty. Was not a good time for us.

Motel style/Good location

The location of this hotel was great. we arrived in the dark and left before daylight but from what we could see, it looked like the pool was right on the beach which would be awesome. We had a hard time getting to our room which was on the beachside. There were no covered walkways and it was raining and very dark. We had difficulty finding the room and were not told at check in to walk behind the building. The room had an unpleasant odor although it did not smell like mildew. Had it been earlier and not raining we would have requested another room but did not in this case and decided to try to get some sleep. The worst part however was the breakfast experience. We paid in advance for the breakfast which was a mistake as it was a "buffet" -- not even as nice as the ones offered at Fairfield and Hampton type hotels. The stated time of opening was 7 am. We went in about 7:05 (doors unlocked) and waited for about six minutes -- noone came out to help us. As the breakfast was already displayed, we sat down and got out toast etc. The waitress came out a few minutes after we sat down and said "Did someone seat you or did you decide to seat yourself". We acknowledged we sat down ourselves and she screamed at us....never came to our table again. No coffee, no silverware, no water. The cook came out and apologized and explained that the waitress did not know he unlocked the door. HOWEVER, Jekyll Island is wonderful. We moved to another hotel and enjoyed.

Gorgeous beach, excellent for beach walks and bikes, quiet but plenty to do, some very nice restaurants, huge rooms. So much different than Hilton Head or the larger, more crowded islands.
