The old hotel vibe is alive. You can definitely imagine the 1930s crowd staying in this beautiful hotel. Historic and well preserved.

The hotel staff were nice, valet friendly and quick. It was convenient for walking around power and light district. Our bed, however, was not great. Head of the bed went downhill so sleeping that direction was difficult.

Great place to stay. Hotel staff was amazing. Will stay here again. Bar staff probably needs some training. Cosmos and expresso martini were good. The dirty martini was undrinkable and we still had to pay for it.

Loved the restaurant and speak easy located within the hotel. The vibe of the hotel was very cool. You felt like you were stepping back in time to a jazz club. While part of the hotel's charm is its deep history, it's also one of its weaknesses in terms of functionality and cleanliness. Our room was fairly beat up in terms of the structure itself, cracks in the walls, peeling paint, worn down carpet with lots stains, finicky doors, and mild odours. The staff at this hotel were very helpful and accommodating.

Nice clean rooms, especially for an older hotel. Loved the classic look to it. Staff super friendly. No fridge/microwave in room unless you ask for it. Walking distance to T mobile center which is why we stayed here. Overall very pleasant for an overnight stay.

The history of the property and its design aesthetics were unique and beautiful. One area had a library, reading nooks, shuffle board, and checkers. Very walkable to T Mobile and the Power and Light District.

Front desk employees were very helpful and professional. Very nice hotel. One negative moment however; I went to the hotel restaurant for breakfast, the hostess was very nice and sat me right away. But, despite being the only customer in the place at the time, the waitress and manager, stood around talking about 5 feet from my table, for 6-7 minutes without even acknowledging my existence. So I left and had breakfast at a diner a few blocks away.

I enjoyed my stay here at the Curio. It appears to be a historical hotel with character. The preservation of the hotel speaks volumes. There are a few things that could benefit the rooms. Sofa was a little worn. A fridge and small microwave would be great. I assume that is not the vibe the hotel will ever see as an option, but in these days and times, something to consider. The beds were comfortable, the water pressure in the shower is fantastic, and the rooms were clean enough, not a deal breaker.. I would consider staying again.

Worn Down Disappointment

This hotel should not be part of the Curio Collection. It was so run down we couldn't believe it. Whatever luster or charm there once was has long ago been worn off. Elevator buttons worn and barely worked. Wood trim and furniture were scratched. There were problems with the bathroom. Just a worn down feeling. Surprised there was no coffee anywhere in the mornings and when it was pouring rain, there was no umbrellas. Again, from a Curio Collection Hilton, the standards were not there. There are much better choices for the same money elsewhere in KC.
