Didn't get what we rented
Publié le 14 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayLet me start off by saying this house is beautiful. However, what we got is not what was advertised. The day before getting to this rental we got an email from the owner informing us we “only rented the main part of the home”, which was a surprise to us as nothing indicated this rental was split in any way. Because of the “split” pretty much the whole lower level was off limits. That same email also informed us you would need to transport water to the rental as the tap water is not potable and should not be consumed in any way. None of these things were stated in the advertisement of this rental. We had some conversations with the owner, she seemed surprised to learn what VRBO had listed for her rental but that doesn’t change the fact that we did not get what we paid for. Since all this started they have changed the listing, somewhat. It has been over 2 weeks and VRBO has not yet addressed a requested portion for refund.

VRBO SHOULD REMOVE THIS Review. This Is false. VRBO had a glitch in their system. They said I had a bbq which was incorrect. VRBO even called the guest to let them know they made a mistake. I upgraded the guests to use the washer and dryer free of charge because I felt awful. I also refunded them money for the BBQ they purchased. These guests wanted a full refund. I did everything I could to accommodate. They also had an issue with my water. I don’t recommend drinking rain water as we get our water from the rain. I also dont recommend drinking city water from big cities with chemicals. We have reverse osmosis for drinking and cooking. Its unfortunate I received a 1 star after refunding and upgrading these guests. Vrbo fixed the glitch in the system and should be held responsible. Not fair to me at all when I didn’t even know we had a glitch. I have good reviews but there is always someone with something to complain about. My beautiful house is private & 1 block from the ocean. Please book with us you will not regret it. Mahalo

Tropical Paradise
Publié le 12 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe house, which my children called the Treehouse, was absolutely beautiful. We loved listening to all the birds and frogs in the jungle surrounding. The house was exquisitely decorated inside and out. Kitchen was well stocked and everything was immaculately clean. Host was great to work with and very responsive. We are dreaming of when we can return.

tree house paradise
Publié le 9 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe loved our 2-night stay at the tree house. The property is large. Bedrooms are comfortable. There is a great porch where you can sit and not get wet when the rain comes. We got in late, and it was really dark but had no issues.

sleep in the rainforest

Also, the house is a couple blocks off the ocen, not on it as suggested by the VRBO picture. But close enough to hear the waves crashing on the shore when the tide is coming in at night...

Hi Christopher Thank you for your review. My listing says we are one block from the cliffs. We are literally one block. If you want to count the half block that's in between then OK I am on first then the next street is Beach Road which is one block over it shows on the maps exactly where the house is located so that's 100% correct because Vrbo puts the pin there based on the address. Also, the picture of the cliffs shows an arrow pointing to where we are located and it does not point that we are on the Ocean. I wish I was on the ocean front. I am extremely close that's why you can hear the waves crashing. As far as the cool sheets go; the bed you slept in has brand new cotton sheets. It doesn't get better than that. They are literally 2 weeks old, so maybe once they're washed a few times they will get softer. I don't know what cool sheets mean? Lol but if you look at my listing, you can definitely see that my house is not a traditional modern home. It's very artsy & Colorful & definitely unique. My style is not for everyone'. I'm a designer and I am quirky LOL.. The pictures are very accurate so anybody reading this review I suggest you look at everything before you book. Anyhow, thanks for the feedback. Tree House
Publié le 1 févr. 2024 sur HomeAwayLoved it. Overall atmosphere felt like being in a jungle. Interesting decor. Deck was a favorite hangout. Quality appliances and well stocked kitchen. Enjoyed our excursion to Pohoiku black sand beach and lava flow landscape.

Unique house with rainforest vibes
Publié le 29 janv. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe loved staying at Christina's treehouse! Location was wonderful (it was very private) and it was amazing to hear the wildlife in the mornings and night. The stargazing from the balcony was also superb! Overall, the house was very clean and well equipped with basic cooking ingredients and cookware.
Our only issue was with the bedding on the queen bed. It had a comforter (which was too hot to use given the weather) and the fitted sheet looked dirty. Some thinner quilts or blankets would be great (there were no spare ones we could find), including some newer cotton sheets.
Otherwise, we highly recommend Christina's treehouse!

Hi Natasha thank you for your feedback. Regarding the comforter it is extremely light weight. Why didn't you just sleep with the sheet and take comforter off or open the window or turn AC on? Confused on the 5 stars but complain about a silly comforter. It is winter and it gets chilly. I have to shut windows I get so cold. its 66-67* at night. If you would of reached out I would of shared with you extra sheets or blankets they are literally right there so not sure how you looked everywhere. Too funny. Regarding fitted sheet looking dirty well maybe it is just looking old and time for a replacement. Thank you for letting me know. Again thanks for the feedback. Take Care Mahalo Nui Loa ;)

Amazing Treehouse

The house was beautifully decorated and had great energy; the land was gorgeous, and we enjoyed the diverse plants and wildlife! Christina provided a lot of suggestions for activities to do around the island, and we enjoyed them. She was also very responsive to our messages. The location was great; near Paradise Cliffs and not far from Hilo. When we return, we will definitely stay here again!

Rainforest paradise
Publié le 31 juill. 2023 sur HomeAwayAll of our other nights in Hawaii were spent on oceanfront rooms. It was a nice to experience the tropical views of the island in our very own tree house. Love the sounds of the frogs at night and the birds in the morning.

Breathtaking getaway!

Plus, the owner was fantastic, with comprehensive and timely communication and support. I would definitely recommend this location for groups of 4 or more friends/family looking for an oasis in Paradise.

Amazing Nature stay
Publié le 6 juill. 2023 sur HomeAwaySo beautiful and tranquil. Feels like your one with nature. Lime tree in back area. All natural shower in back. Cats were very cool, Nala would greet you on porch each morning. Paradise cliffs were amazing that you could walk to. Hilo was a short drive for everything you needed. Would definitely recommend this place!
