Lovely relaxing break with stunning scenery

The view of the lake and surroundings is beautiful and it was so relaxing to sit on the benches that are dotted around and take it all in. Even though we hit 2 days of dreadful weather I was happy enough to stay in the lodge and read, watch tv, relax etc. It was easy enough to get to and from Keswick and, had it not been for the awful weather, I’d have explored further.

Publié le 23 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayWhat a beautiful location for a lodge! The lodge itself was well presented and clean with everything you would need, but by far the best things are the views and the peace. You are only 15mins away from Keswick. We will definitely be back.

Short stay

Anniversary weekend beside bassenthwaite
Publié le 16 févr. 2024 sur HomeAwayHad a great long weekend , lodge was lovely, let ourselves in as requested, never met the property manager but didn't have any cause to call them. It's a very nice place, lovely view over the lake .
comfortable lodge , everything you need in there. we had some lovely drives out to see some of the other lakes as well, Windermere, rydal water, ulswater, Buttermere, derwent water , loved it.

Loved our Christmas in the lodge
Publié le 28 déc. 2023 sur HomeAwayThanks so much, we had a great stay. Lodge was nice and warm and had everything we needed. Really loved the Christmas tree and decorations.
View and location was amazing. Quite a different Christmas from our usual hot Australian xmas.

Amazing views
Publié le 30 nov. 2023 sur HomeAwayThe property has amazing views, we had a power cut the first night we were there tried both contacts couldn't get through, I did get a call back, i was told as it was a power cut there was nothing they could do. Which is understandable but i would of expected maybe a bit of compassion as it wasn't my fault either. The bedrooms could do with a bit of updating, windows were very dirty and the shower dripped all the time

Hi Jane,
Thankyou for your review and feedback. I will need to look at options for the windows at the back as they seem to be getting splattered with dust whenever it rains, possibly from the foliage. Apologies, we have had a number of issues with the shower and replacing the the valve kit unfortunately didn't solve the problem as it was faulty, the whole unit has now been replaced which I believe has sorted this issue.
I am somewhat surprised and saddened by the comments about the power cut, we rang you back within about 10 minutes of your call, were very apologetic and proceeded to find out what was happening straight away and when the power would be back on and gave you a time so you could plan your evening, I also offered a full refund in the event that the power cut was prolonged.

Beautiful well maintained cottage for those looking for solitude
Publié le 3 nov. 2023 sur HomeAwayWe had a great time at the well appointed cottage overlooking the lake. Both Ali & Chris are excellent hosts and very responsive. would highly recommend the place as we are surely going back again.
