First of all, my check-in experience was awful. I booked through Expedia but the staff there said they did not have a room ready for me when I arrived. They did not seem apologetic at all and even though they tried to make it right by "upgrading" me to a beachfront view room, it ended up feeling more like a downgrade because the room did not have Wifi or a phone in the room. We also did not get any phone service, so no way of calling for help in an emergency. I had paid extra for a kitchenette with my reservation but I was told the best they could do was to add a microwave in the room. The bathroom had a terrible moldy/musty and septic tank odor. I found a cockroach on the bathroom and mold on the tiles in the shower. The bathroom door had to remain shut throughout my stay because of the terrible odor. The pool is not heated and there never seems to be any towels available. The pool was dirty, the couches around the pool were dirty and the ping pong table on the side of the pool was quite literally falling apart. The bricks around the pool were coming loose and created a trip hazard when people walked around the pool . We ate at one of the resort restaurant, and the service was extremely slow. No one was cleaning tables in between guests. We cleaned our own. At any given time, everything ( water bottles, towels, bathroom, wifi etC) seemed to be out of order, out of service or otherwise unavailable. It did not feel like a resort . I have stayed at better motels.

I just got back from Carambola, and there was much anticipation about how it would be after reading many of the reviews. Let me start with the positives: - The views were absolutely spectacular and very quiet, which was what my wife and I were looking for. - the staff was friendly and helpful. I know many people said they were rude, but we didn't experience any worker there who was nothing more than accommodating. - We stayed in room 25; it was clean, well-kept, and had hot showers all day and night. Some people said their showers were cold, but we didn't have that experience. We only stayed for three nights, so we never requested room service. - on the way to the hotel, we asked the taxi to stop at a market, and we picked up alcohol, snacks, and other essentials, so we were happy doing our own thing for the most part. - The food was your typical bar food, and the drinks/bar service was no wait every time I wanted a drink (which was rare since we had our stuff). - The beach was quiet and clean, and the water was gorgeous. They did have limited umberalls, so we found shade under the palm trees and enjoyed every minute of relaxation on the beach. - Our taxi drivers were excellent! Again, this is what we wanted for our 10th anniversary: a secluded, peaceful, quiet, and beautiful beach atmosphere. Now, if you are looking for something more, this place may not be for you. It is a far ride to town; there is not much to do, and it's not a typical resort. Hope this helps

Just delightful! Beautiful property, beach, and pool. It is quite secluded and you need to use a taxi or rent a car if you need groceries, or prefer to eat away from the hotel. Very pricey food and drinks, but I suppose that’s to be expected. The property should consider adding a gift shop for snacks, other essentials.

Do not visit here.. Property is run down. my husband and I were there for 5 days.. worst vacation Ever.. The front desk manager Gentra was the rudest thing.. The room was dirty.. cobb webs everywhere.. And this is supposed to be a marriot property.. Pick another property because this one is not it.. There is no one wi-fi in the room.. We had to go to the front t desk to use our phones.. Ridiculous ..Property is run down looks nothing like the pictures.. Runnn!
