The most diseased hotel in Missouri

No one in lobby waited for an hour. Yes, an hour. Hotel looked like it should be condemned. Horrible smell. We left and never saw a single person to help us. Customer came out of room to tell us he waited 2 hours until someone came to help. I was already walking out sure to the diseased condition. I have requested my money back, but costumer service couldn't get a hold of anyone at hotel, surprise, surprise. Am hoping I've gotten my money back, will check soon.

We were booked to stay for two nights during our hunting trip over this past weekend. When we returned from hunting Saturday evening, it said closed on the door so we could not get in to get our belongings and had no where to stay. We called the police to get our stuff, but they couldn't unlock the place. We had to drive all the way home that evening. So we didn't get to stay Saturday evening and they also have our belongings which includes clothes, carhart shirts, etc. Can't believe a business is allowed to do this and can get away with it. They also took a picture of my driver's license when we checked in and when I asked why they were doing that. He responded to steal my identity. Terrible experience!

The hotel wasn't open for business. There were no cars on the property but the front door was open. Inside a message said pick up the phone and someone would assist you. No one ever answered. There was a lot of construction work being done. Big sign out front said 'under new management'. YOU SHOULD REMOVE THIS FACILITY FROM YOUR SITE!!

Hotel shut down the day of stay

I found a room at this hotel online, rented a room, drove 10 min to the hotel only to find the doors closed, locked, lights off, and signs all over the doors that they have closed.

DO NOT BOOK HERE - NO STAFF, RUN BY GUEST

DO NOT BOOK HERE. Apparently everyone quit or got fired a few weeks ago. No staff was there, rooms were all open but covered in junk and bugs, and a cop showed up to tell us a guest took over the hotel earlier in the week and was renting rooms out by month since the owner is out of state and didn't care. Unprecedented and unpredictable.

There were no sheets on the bed or blankets just a flat and a fancy cover. No heat in the room. Towels had holes in them. No soap. Tv didnt work. Nothing was plugged in or working. It was a crappy hotel.

Disgusting. Room had obviously been “used” prior to our arrival. Evidence was all over the bedspread and dirty rags on the floor. Wouldn’t have stayed in another room there had I been offered… Nowhere else to stay in town that night. Drove 1.5 hours out of way to next closest room.

I began calling the hotel at 6pm to advise of a late check-in. We arrived at 12:45 am. There was no one at the desk. We called, looked around, knocked on doors, etc. I called every hotel in Kirksville, MO and every hotel was booked. Eventually I called the local police because I was afraid something terrible happened to the hotel staff. The police had heard from a number of guests and the entire hotel staff quit. I asked if we could sleep in the police parking lot in our vehicle for a few hours. The police even called hotels within a 40 mile radius and all were booked. So we drive back home and my daughter missed her college tour. I would like a refund.
