The view is what you pay for
Publié le 23 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayGenerally, we enjoyed the property. The place had everything we needed except for some cleanliness issues. One of the pillow covers had a makeup stain on it (didn’t use it). A sheet in one of the bedrooms also had a brown stain. There was a dead spider and a dead ant on the pillow area of two bedrooms. We weren’t sure if the beddings were fully washed before we checked in.
You have most cookingware in the kitchen with beach towels available (thank you!) for use. However, not that many towels were available for our three night stay. They were upfront about not replacing the towels during our stay before check-in. But no one wants to bring extra towels with them from home when paying that much. So we used the washer and dryer once.
The main bedroom is extremely spacious with a great view but the house can be can become very hot for some people without a proper A/C system.
Our grill night with the wonderful view had to be rescheduled due to a power outage in one of the evenings. The property manager was prompt to respond. We did get a partial refund for the inconvenience. Yet, it didn’t make up some of the time we lost. Upon our arrival, we didn’t receive a respond about wifi info until the next evening. So, we had to check the modems and routers around the house until we found an info booklet that was placed on top of one of the furnitures. It would have been nice if the info was provided as part of the check-in instructions. And there are A LOT of mosquitoes!!!

Mahalo for your review, So Young, and for letting us know that you encountered a housekeeping issue. It's very surprising, as our cleaners are highly skilled and have been working in this challenging climate for many years. Always remember that if you have any problem, we're standing by and can send some to assist you! Vacation rentals are different from hotels. Think of it as 'living like a local', rather than a hotel where you have housekeeping and linen service every day. We provide the washer and dryer so guests can launder linens, clothing, etc, if they wish to do so during their stay. Insects including mosquitos are always present in the tropics. We definitely recommend some repellant of you plan to be outdoors during the twilight hours. We're so glad that you enjoyed your stay overall!

Great house and view!

The only issues we had were the TV's did not connect to the network properly to stream and the fire alarm went off mistakenly while we were napping. Apparently that is something that happens often as they have a stick available to turn them off and a note about it in the welcome book. I would suggest to make it a more pleasant stay (since you require guests to remove their shoes before entering) that you offer slippers (can be the inexpensive type hotels often make available) for your guests and a coat rack at the front door. Otherwise, it was a very nice stay for us. The local restaurant/bar was awesome (incredible food and drinks), but only open one day during our stay. The small market there was open multiple days but only had some of what you might need to stock up, and no coffee shop for some distance.

Mahalo nui for your review, Laura. We’re so glad you enjoyed Paradise Bluff!! There are two wifi signals at the home. The main one, paradisebluff, is next to the big TV in the living room. It works the best and should be used when near the north side of the house. The second wi-fi router (paradisebluff_extended) is next to the TV in Bedroom #2. This is a secondary/extension system that uses the house wiring to transmit the internet signal to the second router. This secondary router can be undependable; it works sometimes but not always. The owner has tried to have it fixed, but it still acts spotty. We recommend using the main connection. We haven’t had any reports of internet issues using the main connection. The owner purchased nice 10-year smoke detectors, but the salty and humid oceanfront environment takes a toll, and they only last a couple years here :-( They are replaced as soon as they start to act up, of course, but we do keep the info and the pole handy since it’s impossible to predict when they might fail and start beeping for no reason. One of the few downsides to life in this glorious place… it’s great for the soul but it’s terrible for electronics! Taking shoes off at the door is the common practice here. Being barefoot is a staple of island life :-) The closet in bedroom #2 has a large closet that can accommodate many coats, if people decide to bring them to the tropics. Amazing property - Whales right off the shore at breakfast each morning.

The location is ideal If you’re looking to not be in all the hustle and bustle of the tourist locations. With a parking right in front of the house you’re able to get to all locations with relative ease. The view from the master bedroom is something you will think of long after you’ve left. For those of you that enjoy gardens and a manicured yard you won’t be disappointed on that front either. You’ll find yourself falling asleep and waking up to waves breaking on the rocks below the house. If your looking for other options / stop get this one!

At the end of the world
Publié le 27 sept. 2023 sur HomeAwayWhat an incredible stay. The view made me feel like I was at the ends of the earth with the surrounding ocean views. And I saw 4 brilliant rainbows in the short time we were here on the ocean, it was just stunning. I took pictures and it was so colorful and beautiful it almost appeared fake. Pink, cotton candy clouds at sunset. Look, most of us can't afford to live in a house with a view like this, but man, it sure was nice to be able to live it for a few days. I would highly recommend this house to anyone who comes to the Big Island.

The view!

We will have to come back during whale watching season. The communication from the property manager was right on. She was prompt and informative. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. There is not much to do in the immediate location, so be prepared to drive but if your looking for some peace and quiet, look no further. Thanks for the great stay!

Outstanding Beauty

Amazing floral, great sunrises, ocean view with waves crashing and awesome afternoon rainbows. Quite part of the Big Island yet within one half hour to an hour from all spectacular activities and sites! The locals are very friendly and inviting to their community. The members of the lovely small Catholic church were very nice. The house has everything you need. To enhance your stay, the owner has marked everything to make it easy to learn the house and functions. Not often that we vacation at a place where staying at the house rules over other options. Kitchen was well stocked for our meals enjoyed overlooking the bluff and ocean blue! Thanks for providing your house with us! Mahalo

Great stay in a great place - perfect stay in paradise
Publié le 21 juill. 2023 sur HomeAwayThe property was wonderful both inside and outside. The deck was extremely inviting as it overlooked the ocean with great views of sunrise and rainbows. The tropical gardens were delightful and attracted beautiful birds. This was the cleanest place we have stayed with any home rental and it had a large number of amenities available, including spices and condiments in the kitchen and various items in the utility area (sunscreen, insect repellent, beach gear, laundry supplies, etc.). The management/owner have thought of most of your needs. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are quiet. There literally is no negative to state.
