Thank you Tracy for responding to my direct email after reading your review to clarify some of your points and again we apologize if your stay wasn't as enjoyable as you'd like. I wish you would have alerted me about the lighting during your stay. My electrician is a neighbor & I called him after reading your review & it was fixed w/in an hour. He would have come over right away and repaired it. It was a bad fuse in the plugs on the light strand. We have the lighting on a timer to ensure they come on when it is dark as it gets REALLY dark and several people checkin at night, so we want there to be adequate lighting. Handrail - fisherman move a lot of equipment and several have kayaks so their feedback is to not add any more. I try to accommodate the best we can. When setting up a property on VRBO or other sites there is an accessibility section and I say the home is not accessible. We also do not allow infants due to my safety concerns of small children falling. I often get requests to allow infants or people ask questions about the photo showing the path to the lake & I turn them away & say our home would not be appropriate/enjoyable. I have children and a father who has terrible knees so I am empathetic. WIth that, I added to the space section the home is not appropriate for infants or people with knee problems because of the incline. Broken furniture - I replace when I get alerted and today I ordered new dock furniture as we weren't aware the solid wooden adirondack chairs were "falling apart". The one blue chair where there is a piece of the armrest broken we will just discard, and leave the metal chairs. Dirty dishes - We had guests check out the same day you checked in so I'm not sure how the dishes would be dirty as in they had not been used, unless they brought disposable. However, I've spoken to my cleaner to be sure & check the dishes if she notices a lot of disposable dishes in the trash. This one baffles me but we will definitely check. Check in instructions are sent with the directions via VRBO and the checkout only instructions are posted on the refrigerator. We just updated the checkout instructions so I'm not sure if my cleaner placed the sign incorrectly. We find people like the checkout instructions posted in the home rather than emailed prior to arrival. Thank you for pointing out things that needed addressed. We rely on it.
