My short overnight layover was fabulous because I stayed at this lovely hotel. I walked a short 6 minutes to the Lisbon Cathedral from the hotel before my flight the next day. Also, my flight was delayed on arrival, I checked in late at night, and the front desk agent was so kind. I appreciate how she welcomed me into the space despite how late it was.

The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the river and staff extremely welcoming and helpful The room was clean and bed extremely comfortable. Breakfast was very good and worth doing. Majority of the places that we were visiting were not walkable so used Uber all the time and prices were very competitive. Didn’t use a taxi and were told to be careful and if we did to go by the meter and not agree a price - several people had said that they had been ripped off If you go to the Jerónimos Monastery we had to cue for over 45 minutes in the heat which seems to be the norm. Once inside there is no where to sit so be aware you could be along time on your feet For football fans the Benfica Stadium and museum tour is good but pitch was being relaid so couldn’t go on it. Sporting were undergoing renovation work so were unable to get inside the stadium - conclusion probably better to do the visit during the football season. One other thing to be aware of is the tic tic vehicles - we were warned off them and from what we saw was probably correct plus they are expensive
