The hotel was superficially very nice with an attractive lobby area but it was rather devoid of atmosphere and seemed rather quiet and deserted. The reception staff were helpful and professional and should be praised for their efforts.
Our main gripe was the room which was tucked away as part of a small mezzanine area and which gave us a view of a brick wall about 2 feet from the window. Although not expecting an uninterrupted view of London's landmarks, this was not what I'd expect from a 5 star hotel (or the price paid). If we'd have been staying more than one night, I'd have complained.
Probably not somewhere we'll be looking to return to.

Spacious room and good furnishings, with limited temperature control. Shouldn't have to rely on the stand-alone electric heater for overall warmth at night. Front-desk staff courteous and efficient, but lack general knowledge about surrounding areas.
