The family room we were given needed updating.
It was a little cramped. Our view from the window was a court yard which was full of rubbish, takeaway ,food, bottles etc. However staff were ok, breakfast was good and it was about 3 minutes walk to the train station. 5 minute walk was the shops,Asda etc.
Generally a feeling of unsafe environment when we (being elderly couple) were followed by a couple of men to enter the supposedly secured stairwell. They did not appear to have access card. There was no staff at the reception. We were too scared to confront or deny their access after we entered with access card. More to the suspeciousness was that they acted strange and would not enter the lift but stayed around the stairway.
Upon arrival the venue had an internet failure meaning they couldnt check anyone in. Glad that resolved in under 5 minutes. There is a fee for early check in. Otherwise the room was clean and comfortable. TV remote didn't work due to lack of batteries.
Breakfast was not included as advertised. The parking was in an underground carpark about 8 mins away. Not ideal if you have a lot of luggage and personally didn't feel safe parking there and walking back in the dark as we arrived late at night.
Incredibly small room for four people, could not even fit our suitcases. No air conditioning and only one window that opened. And even then it only opened three inches. Unclean bathtub. Daytime receptionist was helpful.
