More of an Apartment than VRBO

This could be a great little stay. Unfortunately, they didn't list it as a shared house. There is a rental on the back of the house. Separate by only by a door. When we got there we had items for the refrigerator. But when we opened the door it smelled because there was a cheese snack tray left in the fridge which we had to remove. The first night we went to bed, very short dog hair was all over the covers and sheets. The covers appeared to be clean but visited by a dog with short hair. I heard one from the back apartment, I presume they were the cleaning crew for the front. The furnace for both areas is in the kitchen around the corner from the bed and ran most of the time. We checked in on Saturday, my wife noticed that there was 1/4 roll of toilet paper in the bathroom. After a search for at least 1 more I text the owner that we were a little short on the TP. We were staying until the following Friday. She said if we need more she would get some over by Monday. We just purchased some. We check out a day early and canceled a second stay. It is in a great area between Champaign and Mansfield which is where we visited family. A little attention to the details and more upfront information would prevent surprises. I rent VRBOs to prevent the "hotel" issue of someone next door. It really does not fulfill my checklist as a VRBO. Someone needs to check the work of the cleaners before someone checks in. Last, replace partial TP rolls with a brand new roll; it is small thing!

Cute and clean!!!

This is a very cute, little place and seriously for the price it is amazing. It was perfect for what we needed. A place to sleep while we visited my daughter at the University. Is it luxury? No but it was clean, cute and a BARGAIN! You cannot beat it. There are other places out there that are gross and sooooo much more expensive. I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Adequate

Space was adequate for what I needed. Be aware, this is a small portion of a bigger home. You will be sharing the overall space with someone else. In my case, it was someone with a dog that liked to yip late at night. At first glance the place appeared to be clean. It wasn’t until I went to look for towels and turn down the bed that I discovered it wasn’t The towels didn’t appear to be clean. If they were, they were laundered a long time ago and shoved in the cabinet. It was very othey weren’t fresh. When I turned down the bed, I discover hair all over the sheets.

Overall experience in Mahomet

In general the property was smaller and less updated than the pictures! The check in and contract with the host was relatively smooth. It was our visit attempt at this process staying at VRBO location. It was a little more expensive than I expected for the size and amenities provided.

We were displaced from our home for about a week. She worked with us on arrangements and made it possible to make it a home away from home u til our house got the much needed repairs done.
