Perfect home for 2 weeks in a fabulous location for exploring chateaus and caves. We had everything we needed with the bonus of the pool which was very much needed in the heat and the boys loved it. Walking into Monpazier daily to visit the Boulangerie was a happy routine.
The photos of the house do not do it justice. Everything was better than we expected. All the little things we are used to taking when staying at a Gite were already there, and that made a real difference. The welcome was warm and charming, especially as we were there for an important wedding anniversary. We could not recommend the place more highly, and plan to return next year.
Took wife, daughter and her friend. It was a long way from the nearest autoroute but a lovely drive through France. It took about 7 hours from Caen (will fly to Bergerac next time) The farmhouse was beautiful, clean and spacious. Comfy beds, well-catered kitchen, good WiFi. Nearby (1k walk) Monpazier had everything we needed, 2 x Boulangerie, v important, lots of bars, especially the Bier de la Bastide. The Michelin Star Edward I hotel and restaurant is worth every penny but don't bring young children there in my opinion. There are simpler and cheaper alternatives too. Sylvian, our greeter, was very good and contactable by whatsapp when needed.
A really beautiful house, well furnished with comfortable beds and clean, functional bathrooms. Pool was a real winner especially with my 4 year old, we must have been in it at least 3 times a day.
Outdoor BBQ facilities were great in a really idyllic location.
As an english speaker with a really limited grasp of French, the property manager spoke perfect English and was so welcoming, and couldn't do enough for us.
I'd return in a heartbeat.
Lovely house and base for exploring the area. House had everything we needed including for us adults - gas bbq and outside fridge for cold beers on the terrace but also kids enjoyed private pool.. 10 minute walk into Monpazier which is lovely little medieval town to explore with a few nice restaurants and a small supermarket. So much to do in the area but it was difficult to leave the pool and house each day! .. Would definitely come back!
Lovely location, well decorated and very clean. Small but very nice pool. Different terraces to use depending on wind and time of the day which was really great. Walking distance to the small town which is one of the best Bastilles we have seen. Great bakeries, butchers, small supermarkets, restaurants, bar,... just everything you want for a great holiday. And ... a very warm welcome and great service and suppport when we had questions. Top place, top location and very friendly welcome.
