I recently stayed at Hotel Principal in Mexico City, and overall, the hotel is beautiful and perfectly located in the heart of downtown, making it very convenient for exploring the city.
However, there were a few disappointing aspects. During check-in, the front desk agent was very serious and not welcoming. We were not given any information about the hotel amenities, restaurant, or breakfast, just asked to sign some papers and handed the room key. Additionally, the televisions in our room were not fully functional, as neither remote control worked properly beyond turning the TVs on and off.
On our last day, we also had an uncomfortable experience with a housekeeping staff member. When my mother politely asked for a couple of bottles of water, the staff member responded with a poor attitude. Before giving us the bottles, she reported the number of bottles over her radio and asked for our room number to document it, which felt unnecessary and unwelcoming.
While the location and appearance of the hotel are great, the service experience could definitely be improved.
