This is Scanlonville - Remley's Point, on a quiet dead end street... an old Historic neighborhood - demographically and ethnically diverse and deeply rooted in the Gullah-Geechie culture.... settled after the Civil War. If you are uncomfortable with diversity, then don't book here. Neighborhood was a prime stop on the famous Chitlin Circuit. Local homes can be moderate houses, ramshackle shacks, or mega-million-dollar mansions. You will find it all in this highly desirable, well located, diverse neighborhood.

Parking: 4 to 6 vehicles can park stacked in the driveway. Cars that cannot fit in the driveway will need to park around the corner in parking lot on 4th Street.

Great location for all things Charleston!

We came for a family wedding in Charleston, and the house was very central to all the activities. The house is a little older but was clean and had all the amenities we needed! The owners communicated very well. It was a perfect spot for our family!

Great Girls Trip House

Very comfortable (except for gnats and pollen in the air) house with lots of space and areas to hang out. Easy access for what we were interested in. Loved coffee and wine on the porches and around the pool!!!

Convenient location with awesome backyard.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay during the Low Country Oyster Festival. The house had plenty of room for our nine adult guests and was equipped with everything we needed. We particularly enjoyed catching up with friends on the large backyard pool deck. The location, just over the bridge, made for an easy Uber ride into Charleston. We would definitely stay again.

Reunion of friends

We picked a great property for a reunion of 4 friends (and 3 spouses). The location is convenient to downtown & beaches, stores are close by, yet the neighborhood is quiet. The house itself was spotless, tastefully decorated with comfortable beds, premium beddings and towels. The salt water pool was put to good use by most of our group and there was plenty of seating on the deck to enjoy the nice backyard. It was too warm to use the fire pit or I’m sure we’d have enjoyed that too. Communication was excellent with expectations laid out well ahead of time and repeated at the time of arrival. George accommodated two of our group’s slightly earlier arrival, which we appreciated. This property is highly recommended!!.

Fun in the sun

This house is just as described! 5 spacious bedrooms,( 2 king size suites), 4 bathrooms, more than enough space for everyone to spread out, and not be on top of each other. From the rockers on the front porch, to the screened in porch, access to the deck from the king suites, everything is laid out perfectly. The fenced in yard, with multiple seating areas,(including fire pit), gave our grandchildren ample space to play. Of course, the pool was the biggest hit for the little people, and there’s a playground nearby as well. The open floor plan was perfect, allowing us to be together, without feeling like we were in each other’s space. Communicating with the owners was seamless and responsive to our needs, especially when my husband and I were stuck in traffic, and had to sit for an hour. They graciously agreed to let our son check in with his family, even though we weren’t there. We made friends with the neighbors cat, who was affectionately named Boris, providing free entertainment for the grands. Quiet neighborhood. All in all, a great time had by all.

Beautiful Home

This is a beautiful home. There were 8 adults and it had plenty of space. George is immediately responsive to any questions we had. The pool is beautiful. We wish it would have been warmer so we could have used it. The only strange thing was that we had to provide our own garbage bags. There was one in the trash can and that was it. We were informed of this when renting, but I have rented many, many homes through VRBO and have never had to bring my own garbage bags. I'm sure they have their reasons but I don't know what it is. That isn't a big enough issue to not rent though because it really is a beautiful home and a very quiet neighborhood.

Family time for Easter

This property was perfect for our family gathering in Charleston to celebrate Easter. The house was super convenient to local restaurants in Mount Pleasant as well as the beach at Sullivans Island. The private pool and fire pit were an added bonus! Would stay here again!

Beautiful home for Bride’s family!!

We traveled to Charleston for our daughter’s wedding downtown. The home was exactly as pictured, full of eclectic local decorations and everything working and well stocked. All beds were comfortable, bathrooms spotless, overall just wonderful. Close to the bridge, and quick ride or Uber to our locations at the Citadel and reception. Owners are communicative, easy to check-in and out. Entire party loved the home, the location, everything. We would 100% stay again in a heartbeat!

Christmas Get-a Way

The property was in a great location to downtown Charleston. We are able to Uber everywhere is a timely manner. The neighborhood was delightful! We enjoyed the house and cook several meals in the very equipped kitchen. We so enjoyed the outdoor firepit and the backyard was so private. Laurie and George were great to work with and very conscientious to assit us with our stay. We definitely would stay again at any of Laurie and George's property.

Girls Trip

I cannot stress enough how great this property is and how responsive/friendly the owners are - even gave us a great tip about King Street. We were there for a Girls Trip (all in 40s or 50’s) and has an amazing stay. Very clean, everything you need, and great location. Close to a number of things, but hidden back off the main path. Great great place to stay and would definitely return.

A Few Days Away

Great place and Great location. Clean and everything you needed for a comfy stay. In the middle of everything that worth seeing or doing in the the Charleston and surrounding area. Perfect get away for a large family or even two family’s. We had 4 couples in our group and there was plenty of space for more. Beautiful and spacious property with plenty of room for our two families to share while in town for a wedding.
