Great cottage with a bunch of water activities

They provide a bunch of activities; paddle board, kayaks, float pad, badminton, volleyball, bunch of board games, and more. It also has a shallow area w sand. I wish it was sunny when we went but either way we had fun and we would love to
go back again! Thank you to John for being a great host.

Perfect weekend getaway

Spacious Cottage on a Relaxing Lake
Publié le 13 sept. 2023 sur HomeAwayJohn was very communicative throughout our stay. He left us a welcome package that included helpful details about the cottage. The place was fully-equipped with kitchen supplies, which was great because we liked to cook. We especially loved the espresso machine! The place was just as advertised, except that it didn’t include basic soap and shampoo and a couple of us packed light and forgot to bring. It was much more spacious than we thought and we ended up not using the basement. We were 8 adults and the upstairs rooms were able to accommodate all of us. Plus, the basement was a little musky and didn’t have a lot windows anyway. We spent a majority of our time in the lake, it was very clam and peaceful. We were particularly grateful for all the water toys. We couldn’t jump off the dock because of all the seaweed, but we would paddle the giant foam raft out into the middle of the lake and jump off from there. Also, the dock was unstable and would often wobble when we walked across it. Unfortunately, we did encounter one impolite neighbour but overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the area was quiet.

A wonderful cottage experience

We had a great time using the water equipment and having nightly fires and relaxing in the hammocks. It is such a beautiful and quiet lake. The host John was extremely helpful and responsive to all of our questions. We are hoping to return again next year if possible:)

Perfect Reunion

Perfect getaway

Looked different than the photos showed
Publié le 21 août 2022 sur HomeAwayThe property was a little older than we were expecting from the photos. The basement was not ideal for sleeping - very musty smelling and rooms were very small. You could not go for a swim without first going through a fair amount of seaweed and grasses to get to swimmable water. Both grandkids ended up with leaches on their feet - you need to be careful where you stand in the lake. The kitchen was very well stocked and had all utensils and appliances you needed. The back door has many bees coming and going all day, I believe there is a nest somewhere under the house siding.

Thank you for taking the time to review our cottage and we’re sorry that our cottage did not meet your expectations. We have done our best to fairly represent our rooms in all of our pictures and descriptions. They have all been taken within the last year and we do not use any lenses or filters when taking them. And based on all of the previous reviews from prior guests, our guests have been very happy with the space and our cottage overall. We are also very sorry to hear about your grandchildren getting leeches on their feet and your inconveniences with the weeds. Water plants and all forms of living creatures are all part of cottage living in Muskoka. And while we really aren’t fans of the weeds, and with the low water level this year they really stand out, we are prohibited by environmental regulations to remove them. However, what we do, and I believe many of our guests do, is to use the paddle boards and even the giant floating yellow pad to float over the weeds and go swimming out past the dock where it is clear. And thank you for telling me about the bees. If they are in the siding, we will definitely see about having them relocated.

Great stay!!

The wifi was fantastic for remote work as well - able to sit and work outside as far as to the dock even! We really appreciated and enjoyed the SUP boards and kayaks, the older kids loved the hammocks and the younger kids enjoyed playing in the sand. The cottage is on a nice quiet road so we were able to walk and bike safely. Very close to lots of beautiful trails and waterfalls as well. Thanks for a great week at your beautiful cottage!

Publié le 18 mai 2022 sur HomeAwayCottage absolutely beautiful! Right on lake with sandy beach. 5 bedrooms so lots of room. All necessary items to cook ect. Fabulous, clean cottage. My husband & I had a wonderful time. Thank you John
