Would rather camp in the woods in August than stay on this boat

2 hours into stay were told that we need to bag our used toilet paper because the toilet clogs easily
Told all of the above to owner who replied… this is a safe area and previous renter brought their own toilet paper which backed up the toilet and messed up the macerator
It is obvious the owner does not visit the rental, his dinghy is on the verge of sinking
I am a primitive camper and I would rather stay in the woods than on this boat

It's unfortunate that Karen didn't enjoy her stay. There's some truth to her review, yes the previous renter broke the toilet it was very difficult for the plumber to repair and expensive. What Karen isn't telling you in her review is that we refunded her money. The entrance to the boat is a sliding glass door and operates like any other sliding door that when you shut it you push up to lock it from the inside, on the outside there's a numbered padlock.
Unfortunately our neighbors dinghy takes on water. Yes ..it is very hot here in SouthWest Florida in August we have two 12,000 BTU air conditioners that keep the interior very comfortable during normal conditions. Karen stayed here during a dangerous heat wave. Part of your complaint is the heat. I hope there was something positive she can remember of her night on the water. She was the first person we have ever had in August, it's off season I wish she would have done a little more homework.I encourage you to read our description and check out our wonderful photos and other reviews. Cancelled stay

Host cancelled at the last minute.
Did not even inform me.
I had to call and find out when repeated messages were unanswered.
Finally at 5pm on Dec 1st, I called and was told about a gas leak, and that the property was inhabitable.
I had to scramble to find last minute accommodations at a steep price. Not fun!
Hoping for a refund of the booking soon.

Sorry you had trouble with the wifi back in January. Since your stay the marina has upgraded to 5G.

Beautiful boat
Publié le 15 mai 2022 sur HomeAwayThe boat was just as described. It was comfortable and the area has lots of great fishing. I only gave a 3 star for overall rating because of the terrible sewage smell in the cabin. It was very difficult to handle.

we installed a new easy flush toilet. unfortunately it wasnt installed properly. Glad to say problem solved.

Wonderful property!
Publié le 22 avr. 2022 sur HomeAwayExactly as listed, even more spacious than anticipated. Great temp control, restaurant nearby is delicious and friendly. Super close to parks, a short ride from Marco Island, and a really fun adventure for my kids. Only one drawback is because it is a boat, tp must be disposed of in trash. Other than that you won't be disappointed. We are very happy we came here and would choose this over a standard hotel room any day!! Thanks!

Fantastic Area & Stay

Fun and unique Stay
Publié le 15 avr. 2022 sur HomeAwayA few pros and cons Fun boat weekend! Enjoyed hanging out on the top deck or seats on the back of the boat to watch fish jump and gators! Nice and quiet and nice neighbors. The bed was comfy. Also walked to the local bar/ restaurant in the hotel next door. Was interesting but fun and great staff.
Concerns....I would like to give this a higher rating except there was a few major concerns that make it so I just can't.
There were 2 floor standing AC units They both were giving of a horrific smell. It was similar to a chemical from a hair perm at a salon. We had to shut them off often to air out the boat. The smell permitted into everything we brought! Even my car smelled for 2 days from the bags being placed in there. Which is very concerning. We stayed 2 nights and could not have stayed a 3rd due to thst smell. The ac unit in the main cabin did not appear to be vented well. It did not keep it cool. Any warmer than the 83 degree FL day, we would not have been able to stay on the boat. In the day it was too hot inside as that unit didn't work well. The bad odor we from both units (We are sure it was the ac not the septic.) The unit in the bedroom would click repeatedly like it was not going to turn on...and I messaged the owner to say we would turn it off so it didn't cause a fire or anything . He just said okay. No other concern or info or offer to look at it.
These units don't seem to have dehumidifiers in tkem so the bed blanket was wet.
We did have a nice time but the smell really was a concern. Once they fix that and the carpet, (that is not securely attached to the floor), it will be a fun place for a few nights.

It's very helpful when guests let me know how I can make this the best vacation they ever had. Reading this review was saddening. Unfortunately the marina crew didn't pump out the holding tank. Every time they flushed the toilet the combination of sewage and disinfectant and sanitizer vented into the bilge area and the ac units sucked in the nasty air. Both ac units are new and both are dehumidifiers. I now have printed directions for ac and dehumidifier. Neither of these units will catch on fire.
Amy couldn't stay a third night because she only booked two nights.
The guest that stayed before her gave me five stars as well as the guest after her. It bothers me that this happened during her trip. She is welcome back anytime on me.

True live-aboard experience.

Waves of Grace
Publié le 1 mars 2022 sur HomeAwayNice people living on boats in the same marina. Felt safe. Hotel right there with Wi-Fi, a restaurant (serving lunch and dinner) and big lobby. No place close to get breakfast though. Nice but expensive ship store right there too. Boat equipped with the essentials including an iron, small travel hairdryer, coffee maker and enough pillows. Would have liked another blanket, though. Not far from Marco Island so we liked to location. The owner communicated well with us and was responsive.
