You definitely get for what you pay for. Regardless, of the stars, I believe somethings just have to be kept up with. Hotel needs some basic attention. Buy new sheets, fix fans in bathrooms, fix/replace furniture (ex. broken chairs). By biggest problem, is when any hotel, regardless of stars, does things just to be cheap. Either don't water down the orange juice and the waffle batter or just don't offer them at all.
Biggest problem, however, is the safety!! There is no attended visible during "open door" policy, so, anyone can just walk in. Which did happened, someone just came into use one of the bathrooms, threatened my son and just walked out.. again, there was no one from the hotel attending the front desk (unless you ring the phone). That in my view is unacceptable.. I can deal with cheap, however, once I am inside, I should not have to make sure to walk with my son around the holeway, worrying that someone might insult him or worse.
