Compared to it's bigger sister, Amanek Beppu Yulare, this is way more inferior. The walls are paper thin, I could not sleep the first night as people in the next room were talking and I could hear them word for word like I am in their conversation. 2nd night, I had to use earplugs and I probably slept because I was so tired from no sleep on the first night. The onsen in the sister building was amazing and that's the only saving grace. This hotel has so much potential. Just a little bit more upgrading, updating and sound proofing, it would be perfect. Toilet was obviously very old, door at the bottom was rusty and too many stains everywhere.

Rooms are really dated, AMANNEK INN is the small business hotel next to the real AMMANEK hotel, you are allowed to use their facilities. The rooms are size of a shoebox, I was not able to open my luggage anywhere but on your bed. I checked the Ammanek hotel, while the lobby looks modern, the rooms still look dated, so not much difference than the INN. Oh and they dont clean your rooms regularly, I had to leave the trash out of my room everyday, very janky.

Just 5 min walking from Beppu station. 10 min walking to the sand bath Ofuro. The Ofuro of the hotel is on 14th floor, you can soak yourself in the Ofuro and have a good view down to the city. Good to stay.

I felt fooled and wronged since they have two properties. I felt like I was advertised the Amanek with photos of the Amanek Yule-re but was told I was at the Amanek Inn. When searching on google only the Amanek Yule-re shows up. That is very deceitful. Wrong! My room was super dusty and nasty stuff on the wall right next to my bed. I had to move the bed off the wall to sleep somewhat comfortably knowing I wasn’t going to touch whatever that was.

Weekend in Beppu

Great weekend get away to Beppu with accommodations about a five minute walk from the train station. Breakfast offered dishes and products from the regional area with titles in English as well as other languages. Many other services were available such as spa, massages and public baths. Hotel was within walking distance to two malls, one that offered foot baths. So much to do with so little time.

Stay away from this abomination

Over a month of hotels and this is by far the worst! Hotel is non-smoking, yet the room reeked of cigarettes. Went to reception to ask for another room, the guy came up to the room, sniffed, and started saying that he didn't smell it. We had to argue that it reeked and needed a new room. After a lot of reluctance from him, we got a new room. Then the new room's A/C didn't work so great, so our chocolate treats melted while we went to the overcrowded pool with children splashing water everywhere and on everyone. We saw 2 adults spitting in the water and left. The bed had a weird stain on it, and the shower had some hair. There is no parking on premises, and they give you a vague map on where to find parking.  Google Maps gets confused because this is 2 hotels in 1 with the almost same name. You actually have to go to the other hotel for the pool or public bath. Tattoos are not allowed despite being in Beppu (which is a tattoo friendly town). Some of the other staff was nice, but that guy's actions kinda ruined it all, and a lot of the other guests were just... horrible?
