About this space

Starry Pines Cottage is a newly renovated, 1950s resort cottage that has been brought back to life.

The house features reclaimed wood pieces and local furniture finds alongside mid century modern touches that give it a unique and stylish appearance.

We have outfitted the place to function for small groups and families with a fully equipped kitchen and flexible seating arrangements.

We allow dogs on approval, so tell us about them and bring your furry friend along for a hike.

The location is fantastic, whether you are looking to ski (just 11 miles to Hunter Mountain,) explore shops and restaurants or breweries or go hiking and swimming. Palenville is 15 minutes from everything you want.

Our family including a friendly lab mix lives in themain house is across the drive from the cottage so we will be your neighbors. That said, we respect your privacy and need for solitude and leave it up to the guests as far as interaction goes.

You will have full private use of the entire cottage/guest house which is equipped with bathroom, kitchen, and two bedrooms. You will also have private access to your own patio, fire pit and BBQ. The hot tub and outdoor sauna are shared with owner but renters have priority and we generally only use if you are out.

The greater yard, sun deck, and small trail that runs through the property are shared space, please enjoy, and clean up after your pets if they are with you. Can’t wait to have you enjoy this beautiful property!

House was very cute, bed was comfy. It would have been nice if our parking spot and walk from the car to the house were shoveled at any point, the shower head was just awful, and the hosts were hosting an outdoor gathering which made us too uncomfortable to use the hot tub one night which was one of the main reasons we booked.

We visited Starry Pines for a winter weekend getaway. The cottage was very charming and cozy, and the host was very communicative. Good kitchen and a wide selection of movies and books. Only downside was pellet stove used to heat the bedroom varied greatly in temperature.

We came to the area for my husbands H.S. reunion and to visit with family. Charming little cottage. The wi-fi worked, but was a bit spotty at times because of the area. The TV was streaming services only, so if multiple people were streaming, it took a while to buffer content. It really wasn't much of an issue for us as we were out and about most of the time. The owners of the property live across the drive as stated in the listing, but they were actually away for a good part of our time there, so it was very peaceful and quiet. The hosts were very responsive to our requests both before and during our stay. We would most likely stay again if ever in the area as it was close to everything we were doing while there.

Amazing Location, Incredible Host, Unbeatable Stay

We came up here for an extended weekend getaway and couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay. The location really is 15 minutes away from everything! From skiing to restaurants and bars you can find everything just a short drive away. And while you stay at the property, the amenities are awesome and everything is clean and works well! The hosts are incredibly kind and I can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay.

Starry Pines Cottage

My friend and I had a wonderful stay at Starry Pines Cottage. We were in the area to visit Levon Helm Studios for a couple of nights. Great communication with the hosts and they are a wonderful family. The cottage is in close proximity to their residence, but we felt like we had our privacy. Super comfy beds!

Great location in the Catskills

Cabin was cute and in a great location to explore several of the small towns in the Catskills. Very close to the Kaaterskill waterfall/hiking trail! Host was very nice and concerned for our comfort (we happened to be there during an extreme heat wave).

Perfect peaceful getaway

cute and clean cottage in great location

We really enjoyed our stay. Clean and comfortable. In a very walkable and interesting neighborhood, convenient to many hiking trails. Communication with property manager was delayed, but there were temporary, extenuating circumstances. Manager was helpful and apologetic regarding slight delays. (An outside floodlight was left on until 11PM -we like complete darkness,) We just missed the new outside sauna. That will be a really nice perk should we return to the area!

Great experience!

This cottage is a great little escape from the city! It was much larger than my NYC apartment so it was great to have all the indoor space amidst the beautiful surroundings of the area. Palenville is a cute little town as well. The cottage was super cleanly and had all sorts of nice touches and amenities. You’ll enjoy your stay here!
