Known as the Quartier Latin, the 5th district is located on the left bank of the Seine. This area is home to the Sorbonne university, first founded in 1257, as well as several other schools and colleges. It is thus known as a student area. Visitors enjoy Paris’s 5th for its perfect mix of excellent restaurants, shops, student bars jazz clubs and cafes.
