Wonderful family getaway with friends
Publié le 6 janv. 2024 sur HomeAwayQuiet neighborhood. Quick walk to the general store. This home has two refrigerators and it was great for our 4 families. One of the bedrooms has a curtain ilo a door, something to consider adding. We had a good time.

Publié le 16 oct. 2023 sur HomeAwayWhile we really enjoyed our stay and had a great time, There were a few concerns mentioned here for the sake of improvement.
1. The walkway to house entrance is made of concrete with large rocks sticking out a few inches, making it a rough surface creating trip hazard especially when moving stuff in and out. Recommend smoothening up the walkway.
2. Not enough useable shower towels in the bathrooms. There were some towels in the lower cabinets but they were marked: "for emergency use when the floors flood" meaning they were not hygienically clean and useable.
3. Paper towels were missing in the kitchen cabinets and other areas. We had to buy some for out needs.
4. Largest master bedroom was separated from the hallway only by a curtain, not enough privacy. recommend adding a door.
5. Downstairs suite was unknown to us until we contacted the agent and asked about it.

This review is not appropriate. The guest was send house info which he obviously did not read. We ask guests to bring their own bath towels or ask us ahead of time if they cannot and we will provide for a small fee. This is to cut water use which is a problem when you have a house that hosts very large groups. Downstairs access is explained in the info as well. Our listing explains the room layout and curtain. There used to be a wall but as I found not stand the long hallway design I removed it and made the house not feel like a hospital. Incorrect; that room is not the largest master bedroom. The master is in the rear of the house with a loft.
The rocks in the walkway are perfect for slippery icy conditions and only stick out half an inch. No one has ever fallen there but have in the smooth driveway and 2 of our guests (over the years) have broken a bone falling on the icy driveway. We can’t please everyone. This is too silly.

We had a great time!
Publié le 16 sept. 2023 sur HomeAwayWe had an excellent stay at this property. The house has a ton of rooms and beds and was comfortable for our group of 10. It is not super fancy, but was just what we were looking for. Please note there are extra charges for towels and for not cleaning up at the end (ie putting away dishes, cleaning stove), but these are spelled out in the book with info on the coffee table. I would recommend taking Heidi’s advice on keeping food out of your car as our neighbor left their car unlocked and a bear got in and totaled the car. We also saw a bear on property one evening . The club had lots of events and a fun pool to hang out and fishing poles to borrow.

Enjoyable Visit with Needed Improvements
Publié le 26 juill. 2023 sur HomeAwayWe gathered here for a college roommate reunion with our littles. The owner was kind and highly responsive. Unfortunately the concerns listed in previous reviews were evident in our stay as well. The state of the home including cleanliness and needed repairs made it challenging to find clean and safe spots for little ones to play. Additionally it should be noted there are only 5 private bedrooms. Overall we enjoyed our visit & time together. Knowing this could be a beautiful home, we’re hopeful this feedback improves the cleaning protocols and experience for the next group.

I have forwarded any complaints to my housekeeper who also serves 80% of the rentals in this area. They went and did a thorough cleaning. The only repair issue was a faucet knob (still functional but cracked) which took some time to arrive, and it was replaced already. We take care of everything as soon as it is possible at this rural area. Most our groups have kids and they have not found the house unsafe for them. This group was particularly picky and kept complaining about everything including insects to me and not taking into consideration that they came to an area surrounded by forest.
