The view was great, the house was very comfortable and relaxing. The location was convenient and accessible. If you're on motorcycles, pulling in and out is pretty sandy, but very manageable. I would definitely stay again.
Host was great and very good communication when we had a problem with the lock not working and the wash machine not working. Pictures on site must have been from several years ago. Several things were not as seen in pictures. Vent fan in bathroom did not work, shower curtain had mold on it, only two small spoons, only 3 very dull knives, dirty pans when we went to use them. The place needs a little TLC. We loved the area and had a great time!!
There was construction going on right next door, the entire trip that we were never notified of. There is also a huge camper parked right outside the back (see photo). The host or host company gave the complete run-around and blamed VRBO (who really helped us). Also, several things were broken(hot water, light bulbs out, lock down stairs, washing machine). Overall, it was the worst booking Iâve ever used. Oh, and BEWARE the hidden fees were more than the actual rental cost(see below)! I hope this review saves others.
We had a wonderful vacation in this adorable house. Very convenient to the non crowded beach (we saw dolphins everyday). My only issues, which is very minor, the shower temperature was hard to get right and the bedroom was missing the remote to the ceiling fan so we couldnât sleep with the fan on unless we had the light on as well. I will definitely stay here again!!!!
It was our first time vacationing in this area. We loved this property. The check in instructions were late coming in but I called along the way and we got all set up. I had no further issues with anything there. The beds were comfy and the kitchen had all of the utensils we needed. I was pleasantly surprised to find beach toys in the laundry. We left two boogie boards behind for the next kiddos. Some things about the area that you may not know that surprised us (not bad things just fyi): They are right on the edge of the central / eastern time zone. So if you exit right you are central time. If you exit left itâs eastern. Everything downtown is closed on Sunday and Monday so donât plan on boutique or souvenir shopping on those days. When we did go shopping, it was great! There is no clear path to the beach from the property but itâs there! We had to cross at an old home site but it was safe and thereâs a trail once you get off the concrete. Most drivers on the highway were very courteous and would slow to let you cross. I have posted a picture. Trip Highlights:Snorkeling with AquaBear! SO much fun. Our kids are aged 21 to 6 and everyone had the best time.Hunts on St Joe Bay was our best meal. Followed closely by The Brickwall. I do not recommend KrazyFish. My son and husband had a great time fishing with Gettin Reel. The captain cleaned what they caught and we cooked it for dinner that night!
Property was roomy and clean. More than enough space for a couple. There were even extra bedrooms. Convenient location right across the road from the beach. This area is great in that it was not crowded.
It is a decent place to stay. Just be aware that there are alot of stairs, it is located right on the highway so there is some traffic noise and 3 glass doors and one window have no curtains or blinds. We taped towels over them. All in all we did enjoy our stay.
Overall, we had a great time. The house was clean and well stocked. The beds and couch were super comfy. The road noise is loud from the front deck, but you can't hear the road at all from the beach. We never had an issue crossing the busy road. I would have preferred more window coverings at the front of the house and kitchen for privacy, but that's about my only complaint.
