Air ducts in bathroom were very dirty and caked on with dust. Hallways were a little messy/dirty. Floor 1 was freezing cold and we’re not heated like the rest of the floors. The staff member at the front desk was very friendly and nice though. So our welcome was good!

In desperate need of makeover

This is a run down, old hotel that is need of a good cleaning everywhere outside the front lobby. Front lobby gives the impression that this is a decent place. We had a river view room with a balcony. The balcony was sketchy and felt like it was going to fall right off the building and the railing was very rickety. There was a security guard that drove around the building all night with an extremely bright flashing light which lit up the room every time he drove by. I chose this place based on the reviews on hotels.com. I was very, very disappointed in the state of this property. Will not stay here again.

We had a river view room, I really enjoyed the view and would pay extra for it again. The room was clean, the mattress was very comfortable. The parking lot was patrolled by security all night and that let me relax that my car would be safe while we slept. The facilities were mostly renovated, it looks like they still have more to do. I bet it'll be really nice when it's all done. This will be our go to place when we visit Portland in the future. We can easily get to everything from there but the little island it's on has a tranquil feel and lots of stores and restaurants near by
