The Space:

Azure Suite is the ideal basecamp to explore Old San Juan history, restaurants, shopping, and nightlife. The suite has 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, small but cozy living area right beside the modern and simple kitchen. You will love the combination of old-world colonial structural design and amenities such as air conditioning throughout the villa, wifi, TV, and modern yet simple decor.



The location is ideal for those looking to be close to the action in Old San Juan, next to restaurants, a plaza and all that you need to see in this beautiful historic city.



The suite comfortably sleeps 2 adults in the bedroom's queen-size bed. The unit is on the 4th floor and the building has an elevator and stairs.



PLEASE NOTE: SOME TILES MIGHT HAVE MARKS ON THEM. THIS IS AN OLD BUILDING AND THUS, SOME OF THE ORIGINAL TILES MIGHT HAVE SOME BLEMISHES AND/OR IMPERFECTIONS ON THEM. 





LIVING AREAS



As soon as you enter the Azure Suite you are welcomed by the living area that features a comfortable lounge area, a dining table for 2 with a state of the art flat-screen TV and a modern kitchen.



 

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS



Azure Suite has one bedroom that comfortably sleep 2 adults. The bedroom has a queen bed, air conditioning, and access to a full bathroom. The bedroom has a simple & modern decor. It is appointed with fresh linens for a good night's sleep.



PLEASE NOTE: The bedroom TV features a SMART TV, just for the use of apps like (youtube, Netflix, etc)



PACK AND PLAY (SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY): We can leave a complimentary Pack and Play at the property upon request. This should be requested upon booking or no later than 5 days before arrival. Pack and Plays are subject to availability.

 



KITCHEN



Azure Suite kitchen is small but comfortable and was just updated with new cabinets and countertops. The kitchen has a coffee maker, stovetop, microwave, and fridge. It features a beautiful traditional Spanish window for plenty of natural light. We include enough paper towels, trash bags, and dish soap for guests to comfortably start their stay.  





GETTING AROUND



If staying within the general San Juan/Metro area, we recommend moving around via Uber. **This property does not include parking.**



IMPORTANT: If you need to rent a car, there are various paid parking garages around Old San Juan - pricing varies as some charge by the hour and others have a flat rate. 





LOCATION



Staying in Old San Juan is a truly unique experience filled with charm and character. From the property, you can comfortably walk anywhere within Old San Juan. The apartment is located on one of the quieter streets but still steps away from all the action. We recommend taking a cab from the airport and using Uber or taxi while you stay at Old San Juan. Renting a car is not necessary unless you are planning on road tripping. This is a truly walkable location with everything you need a short walk away. The apartment does not include parking. Nonetheless, there are convenient parking lots close to the apartment.  



There are many things to do in the surrounding areas, here are some of our favorites, all within walking distance:



Explore the El Morro Fort. There are daily tours of the fort and the large green areas have spectacular ocean views. Take a tour, have a picnic, and fly a kite. This is a must-do.

Explore the iconic Calle San Sebastian nightlife. There is a large assortment of bars on this strip which is a favorite among locals on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

Breakfast at “La Bombonera”. This is a Puerto Rican landmark well known for its locally inspired breakfast and pastries.

Savor Stuffed Avocado. Healthy and "trendy" spot where you can create your own avocado bowl.

Take a stroll around “Paseo La Princesa”, a waterfront walkway which you can start off at El Morro and finish of the walk with a rum tasting at Princesa Gastrobar at the end of the trail.

STARTER AMENITIES



At West Indies Vacation Rentals, we strive to provide top-notch amenities, ensuring our guests feel at home during their stay.



All properties come with freshly laundered bed linens and towels. We provide 2 bath towels per guest and 1 beach towel per guest.



We provide a set of disposable essentials to help you get your vacation started comfortably. These include:



- 1 set of hotel-size soap and shampoo (per bathroom)

- 3 garbage bags

- 1 roll of paper towels

- 2 rolls of toilet paper (per bathroom)

- 1 dish soap

- 1 dish sponge



Please note that we do not provide unlimited disposable amenities. It is the guest’s responsibility to review what is included in the property and stock any additional items needed for the duration of the stay.



Most properties also include at least 2 beach chairs and an ice cooler. You may reach out to us 5 days before arrival for confirmation.





HOUSE RULES



RENTAL AGREEMENT: All bookings require a signed Short-Term Rental Agreement, which will be sent upon confirmation of your reservation. Guests must upload a valid photo ID (no selfies) that matches the name on the credit card used for the booking. The agreement must be signed within 48 hours of booking or prior to entering the property, whichever comes first. Check-in instructions will not be provided until the agreement is completed.



NO SMOKING: Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property. A $500 smoking fee will be charged if this rule is violated.



NO PETS: While we are pet lovers, pets are not permitted at the property at any time. A $300 fine will be charged if this rule is violated, and guests may be asked to leave the property.



QUIET HOURS: Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. Please be mindful of noise during these hours out of respect for nearby residents/neighbors.



UTILITIES (WATER & ELECTRICITY): In the event of an interruption to water or electrical service, the host is not responsible for hotel, alternate lodging, or transportation expenses. If service is interrupted for more than 3 hours, guests may cancel the reservation and request a refund for unused nights only. Nights already used are non-refundable.



MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY: The maximum occupancy is 2 adults/children at all times, including visitors.



OCCUPANCY ENFORCEMENT: Occupancy limits are strictly enforced. Exceeding the maximum occupancy may result in immediate cancellation of the reservation or removal from the property without refund.



TOWELS & LINENS: Towels and linens are provided for normal use only. Please do not use them for cleaning or allow them to be stained with food, grease, or other substances. Charges may apply for damaged or stained items.



TOWEL HANGING: Please do not hang towels or any other items to dry in areas visible from outside the unit. A $100 community fine may apply if this rule is violated.



SUBLETTING: Subletting or re-renting the property is not permitted.





CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT TIMES



Check-in begins at 4:00 PM, and since this is a self-check-in unit, you can arrive anytime after that.



If you’d like to check in earlier, please contact us the day before your arrival, and we’ll confirm availability. When possible, early check-in typically starts around 11:00 AM. Please note that early check-in is subject to availability and depends on our cleaning schedule.



If you need a guaranteed early check-in, you will need to book from the night prior to ensure the property is ready upon your arrival.



Check-out time is at 11:00 AM. For late check-out requests, please reach out the day before your departure, and we’ll be happy to check availability for you.





TRAVEL INSURANCE / HURRICANE SEASON



We strongly recommend that all guests purchase travel insurance, not only during the peak months of Hurricane Season (July to October) but also throughout the year to cover unexpected events such as travel delays, pandemics, or other unforeseen issues.



Travel insurance is inexpensive and can reimburse travelers for most expenses associated with canceling travel outside of the cancellation window; however, coverage will depend on the policy purchased. Make sure to review and understand the options before purchase.

It was a nice sized space, was very clean, was air-conditioned and in a good location. It would have been perfect, except that it was on the 4th floor and the elevator was broken during our two day stay. Very difficult for me (almost 74) to haul bags up and down the stairs.

The suite was very clean and well appointed. The best part was the location - right in the middle of everything you want to go see in Old San Juan but removed enough from the bar scene to be quiet.

My wife and I stayed for the weekend. It was an easy walk to anywhere we wanted Ed to go. Food and the fort. Quick UBER ride to the local beaches for swimming. Close enough to the airport but far enough to feel like you are away from the business. The space is small and quiet. Exactly what we needed.

This is a nice unit in what appears to be a professionally managed building with most if not all units rented out for short stays.West Indies, which manages the units, is a professional company and they were phenomenal. They checked with me after the self check in about whether everything was fine, gave lots of info. Check in process was flawlessThe place is recently renovated; the kitchen/living room is well laid out, the bedroom is big enough and well set outThe unit has central AC and keep temperature very well in spite of being on the top floorThere is a window in each room though the glass pane, as it often the case in PR is very small hence the unit tends to be a bit dark.The wifi was perfect and there was enough room for a home office day during my stay

Perfect location!

Great location! Room itself is nice, nothing special, bed and pillows could use a bit higher quality, not comfortable. Basic amenities. 2 people 4 nites, not enough shower gel (2 small tubes), one sm bar hand soap, ran out of tp (local store super close so bought our own, even after requesting from onsite manager), fridge was not cooling, had to keep two bottles wine in freezer just to cool. Fridge was replaced during our stay, while we were out, and wine moved to new freezer and froze (because that’s where it came from out of necessity??), lost wine, a bit irritated by that. Also, when sitting on couch, had the feeling it came from a house w a cat as it smelled at bit like a litter box in that area. Overall a great location..not high quality but clean, price was right I guess. I would stay In Same area again, but try to find a bit nicer place.
