House not for booking

We booked/ paid for this house and when we called for check in process, we were told that the host lives in the house. The host acted as if the listing was taken off vrbo and they didn't know about the booking. I asked about a refund then and they seemed like it wouldn't be an issue. I hurried off the phone to contact the people that were currently en route to re direct them to a new location that I had to hurry and source. This was my wedding weekend, after I figured out where to send people I had no time for anything other than putting the wedding together. So when I checked the app on Tuesday when we got home and there was no communication on this issue, I began to try and figure out what was going on. I was hoping to not have to leave this review. However, there has been no communication from the host after ; I left a voicemail as did vrbo along with a direct email from vrbo on this matter. I spent more than a 2 week paycheck for this rental that I never even saw with my own eyes. We never checked in or arrived to the house even. Yet now I have to fight to get my hard earned money back? I thought I was safe from being scammed using such a proven product. The host finally responded to a text stating that they weren't going to fight this and that I could not get my money back directly from her ( even though that is the process per vrbo - refunds through vrbo must be done before check in) - thank goodness the bank cared enough to takeback the payments!!!

Adequate; not clean broken furniture

while we enjoyed our stay and the location was perfect for our wedding event that took place, the property hadn’t been clean in ages and the wooden beds shown in the advertising were broken and were not sleepable. That’s 3 beds I counted on for atleast 6 persons that was completely out of commission. One bed was even put together with red duck tap, so property owners knew and said nothing. While we were there the circut for the back room must have given way (fried or burned out) as resetting the circuit breakers didn’t restore power. The property is beautiful if it was cared for and the house is also very nice if they just showed it a little TLC. In reality only sleeps 6 not 10-12 people.

Great size, great location, not as advertised

We got there and none of the grass was mowed for months it seemed. Looked like a property that hadn’t been lived in for months. Getting inside was easy and the inside was very nice and spacious which was great. Everything was clean but it was a little warm and we turned all the air on but it took about 2 days for it to cool down so the air conditioners don’t worry very well. Also advertised were the ATVs which were not available to us and we were very disappointed. Don’t include them in the pictures or listing if we can’t use them. Overall a fun time but wouldn’t rent here again. Sorry!

Horrible Experience

The host put the property under immediate reservation. No wait necessary. At 11pm the reservation was made and at 730am next day it was cancelled. Since it was an immediate reservation, this shouldn’t happen. At worse vrbo should call me immediately since they had tel number. VRBO did this 2x on same trip. It’s horrible when we had a party of 12 relying on this. The host knowing that he is not allowing 24 hrs to respond should also be more aware of notifications and checking his communications constantly. Beware of this host if he doesn’t answer back soon. Be doubly aware of VRBO since they don’t care enough to contact the host immediately or the renter either. VRBO put me up in a rinky dink (they told me to choose between 2) hotel. It’s not what my big group had in mind. Everything that went wrong is too much to list. I will try to start legal action (if an atty is willing to take this case) since they haven’t made any attempts to mend what’s broken. So so dissatisfied.

I am sorry this was a horrible experience for you. We did not know as we put it up and did not realize there was a booking. Hence the property was not ready. I assure you that this will not happen again. Again my apologies for this experience.
