No good
Stayed for two nights. At arrival I contacted the landlord as informed on the welcoming mail regarding a locked safe - still havenât heard from them.
Very cold bathroom floor, incredibly noisy AC and fridge. Not even a glass in either the room nor bathroom. Top it up properly a room on the second floor with very small steps and an almost 45 degree angel.
Will not recommend to anyone and will never returnâŠ
Super cute clean and well kept guest house. It was a bit of a hike to the pool. Our neighbors were a little noisy at one point, but not for long. The property manager was quick to respond and we had everything we needed!0
The room was,clean and comfortable.
There were 2 water bottles in the fridge.
What was missing, were cups of any type, and a coffee maker. We had to walk to the ice cream shop next door to get cups, and walk in the rain to get coffee.
You would think for almost $400.00
Per night, these conveniences would have been included..
Also, we were in Room 4, and the shrubs surrounding the stairway were overgrown & mostly blocking the stairs. When it rained, there was no way we couldn't get wet as the wet shrubs soaked us coming or going to our room.
Lovely room - clean, comfy bed, luxury mattress, sheets, etc., attractive decor, spacious bathroom with natural light and fan to dehumidify the space. Outside area could be spruced up with plantings, better shaded area to sit, etc. Overall, lovely. Service was warm and responsive.
The guest house has very pretty photos of the rooms in the app. But the room I got (number 5) was very different. The bathroom was tiny. The furniture different. The space very small. There was no chair in the deck for private use. The chess game is no longer in the garden.
All very different...
A nice stay. We were dying to take a nap when we arrived and unfortunately discovered a HUGE stain on the rug. The sheets on the bed had been cleaned, but previous stains were not completely washed out. The decorative pillow on the bed was also splashed with what appeared to be red wine and had many other dark stains on it which was off-putting. The staff changed our bedding within 45 minutes and we appreciated the prompt response. The rug was never removed and we avoided the large stain the rest of our stay - which was annoying because the rest of the room was sparkling clean.
The king bed and deep soaking tub are particular highlights of the room. Hearing our neighbors walk around and talk wasn't ideal, but thankfully they were quiet so it wasn't a huge bother. It would be nice to have the outdoor furniture on our patio (Room 4) cleaned prior, we had to clean it off ourselves in order to sit.
Definitely don't miss out on the morning pastries at the Shelter Island house, their sister hotel. They are delicious! The earlier you arrive (starts at 8am) the warmer they are. I was a but surprised considering the price of both hotels to see just a Keurig available for morning coffee.
We spent a good amount of time chatting with Ian who is a delight and SO helpful. Definitely seek him out for recommendations around the island.
Overall a nice weekend away we enjoyed and would recommend if you're already planning to visit the island.
The room, #4, was very nice, we liked the location. Had a little trouble with the AC unit and must admit we were able to hear our "neighbors" talking when we tried to sleep late Monday evening. It was easy to check in and we did enjoy the complimentary breakfast provided right up the road at the Shelter Harbor House. It was located in a place that allowed easy access to the places we were interested in visiting during our stay. One downside is that it was on a busy corner and heard quite a lot of traffic, especially early in the AM.
Very happy! Except not enough electric outlets in the room for charging the cell phone, ear buds, etc.....and the bathroom light switch should installed on the right wall when entering! It is more safe and convenient, especially in the middle of the night when you canât see anything!
The room was lovely and airy. The bed was very comfortable. The little veranda very inviting. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only thing it lacked was a coffee maker, an essential.
The guesthouse was perfect for a couple. It is great to have a parking for the car and breakfast in the morning. Self check-in & check- out was flawless and great for COVID-19. The room was very clean, we loved it!
Room good, but property looks terrible, nothing like the pictures. Its also just a guest house, not an Inn. You need to go 3 blocks to the, very nice, Shelter House, to check in, get breakfast, use facilities. This place is just a parking lot with a guest house.
