The Desperado Inn is a charming secluded cabin with Mountain Fork River access
Secluded rustic cabin within a small gated community and only a 3 minute stroll to Mountain Fork River! You can picnic on the river or cast a line! Has a 2-4 person hot tub to relax in on the back side of the cottage. Has a two person porch swing by the fire pit and a charcoal grill. The perfect setup to enjoy the great outdoors! If you feel adventurous you can drive to Hochatown and enjoy too many activities to list them all. To name a few there is Beavers Bend State Park, Broken Bow Lake, guided fishing, putt-putt, bowling, a petting zoo, a maze, axe throwing, and many more and with many eating options.
The property is nice and the home is a cute western theme. The river is just a short walk from the home. It is very remote and quiet. We had a visit from a neighboring pitbull. He was a sweetie and played with the 15 year old in our group.
The facility was nice and relaxing. Amenities were accurate to the description. The hot tub and firepit were nice amenities. The check-in process was a little frustrating due to lack of communication about entry gate and code. Make sure to save all check-in data as cellular service is limited.
If you are looking for a chance to be in nature and just relax this is perfect. The stars were so bright and beautiful at night! The river is close and calm enough to wade in or paddle board. The fire pit was nice and they had everything there to help you start a fire. Each room had their own heater/AC which made it nice to customize your environment. The only thing that we questioned was the fridge didnât seem to feel cool at first but after a while it kept our items chilled. The neighbor had a dog that was friendly but did like to come up to the cabin and play with us outside. So if you are afraid of dogs just know that he is there. Was friendly but hyper. Overall a nice place to escape from the city.
We came to be alone, and that is what we got. The road in was rough but manageable for sure. The cabin was exactly as listed. Listening to the nearby river plus stargazing was glorious. Rustic but relaxing. Thanks for a great place to unwind.
My husband and I spent Thanksgiving here. We loved how quiet it was and that we were able to relax. The cabin is cute and cozy! However I do feel itâs false advertising. The kayaks are locked up and we were told they are for the owners use, the picnic area did have some beautiful sites but the brush is so over grown it was hard to see and made it unable to fish. When we first arrived we had to do some clean up of our own cause there was trash all over the screened in porch and old food left open in the fridge. Once we cleaned up we did really enjoy our stay. The hot tub was a nice way to end our eveningâs!
My husband and I stayed this past weekend and absolutely enjoyed everything about our stay. It rained on and off most of the trip but it didn't stop us from having a good time. A photo lovers dream here!
Quite peaceful place, we had everything we needed. Unfortunately I may have left the wrong key to the cabin. Please let me know if I need to mail the key back.
This property is secluded and peaceful. The outdoor area with the swing and hot tub were nice. The kitchen had all dishes and utinsels for basic cooking. There was a dollar store close by which came in handy.
Accessing the property- We thought we were lost because the gate to enter said private property no trespassing. The details to access the the property with the gate code were sent shortly before check-in. I didn't realize you needed a code to the gate. I had the information to the enter the home. I had no wifi to send and receive messages. Thank god my partner did. We did get a quick response with help in accessing the property. The property did not have WiFi which was fine for us but I have never experienced that.
I was also a bit taken back to find food in the pantry, fridge and freezer. I have always had to take all my items at check-out.
We were very happy with the whole property, house, and definately being able to go fishing. It was so relaxing & enjoyable there. The firepit, swing , and hotub was really nice. We took the kayaks out everyday and enjoyed the river. The owners of the property are great people to deal with. The beauty & peace i got to have every morning on the front porch with my coffee was priceless. It was also nice having some stores & gas station few miles away for extras & dishing supplies. It was what we nicknamed a lil piece of heaven, and we didnt feel like we had to go anywhere else to enjoy ourselves, it was enough.
Owner was coming back to even add a screened in porch with bunkbeds. There are 2 separate nice bedrooms and bathrooms. Washer & dryer in the main bedroom was nice to have. Loved the martin dining table as well. We just cant say enough about this place, and will definitely be going back again this fall!
Ps
Gave 2 stars because didnt kniw if property mgr was someone other than the owners. If its the iwners it would be a 5.
Beautifully decorated two bedroom cabin where we enjoyed true rest and relaxation. There were kayaks, fishing gear, many other outdoor amenities available but the quiet beauty and rest were just what we needed.
