Picturesque and serene

The house itself is cute; we had a fenced yard for the dog to enjoy and the area itself felt away from it all without actually being that far away. I don’t usually sleep well away from home but I slept like a baby there. The peace and quiet plus a comfortable bed did the trick. We would definitely go back to enjoy more of the wineries and great restaurants.

We loved meeting Christine and Dennis. They brought their 3 year old chocolate standard poodle. Brody stole my heart. He became a couch potatoes and curled himself up on our leather couch.
Christine sent me pictures of their outings and Brody loved every waking moment.
I hope they come back soon.
They were super guests.

Enchanting Carriage House
Publié le 6 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayIt would be hard to beat the views from this carriage house and it’s lovely garden. My husband and I had a wonderful stay. Nancy and Jim were gracious hosts, and it seems we have much in common. We highly recommend a stay.

Meeting Barbara and John was truly our treat. We all shared our lives and passions.
They were so much and so interesting too. We hope they come back again so we can enjoy our time together again.

You never know how lucky you are until you meet your guests. Karen and Bruce were so interesting to meet and converse with. She is a lawyer, retired from practice, an author and historian. Bruce, her husband is a geologist. We learned so much about their 8 years cruising and living on their 39 foot boat in the Mediterranean. We hope they return so we can learn more about them and their adventures

Though we didn’t need it, the third person’s bed was in a loft with a challenging access and no lights. Should be explained further in the brochure. Lighting and kitchenette need substantial improvements.

The loft has a light downstairs near the door. It is rarely used only when requested. The party did not occupy that space or request to.
The kitchen is lit from the ceiling. Lighting in the living and dining areas are ambient. Daytime light floods in from the Carriage House windows nearly floor to ceiling.

Magical Weekend Getaway
Publié le 8 janv. 2024 sur HomeAwayI can probably write a short essay about the amazing experience my wife Kelly and I had with our two labs, but I will summarize it by saying the cottage was magical inside and out and Nancy and Jim are great hosts. If you are looking for a place to unwind and find your chi, look no further as this is the spot! We look forward to a return trip in the spring!

A great place to de-stress

Cozy, comfortable and SO quiet. I slept better than I do at home.
Both the foggy mornings and the dramatic sunsets provided great photo ops from the large living room windows. Adjacent vineyard was beautiful even without leaves on the vines.
Would love to come back in the fall sometime.

We were delighted to welcome Susan and her two beautiful dogs.
She came completely equipped to stay for the holidays through New Years.
Sadly my husband Jim and I were under the weather and due to Covid we could not engage or meet her. She was so kind in offering to bring us food or shop for groceries. The kindness she offered was deeply appreciated.
We hope to welcome her back anytime she would like to return.
Our guest awaits her and others who want to experience the tranquility and beauty she describes.

Vineyard View
Publié le 29 oct. 2023 sur HomeAwayThis is a small carriage house, perfect for 2. The owner was available, but not in the way. She had a good balance to our being on her property.
The place is cozy. The kitchen is adequate, but probably not up to the preparation of a feast. Not a problem. There are many fine restaurants in the area.
The bed is very comfortable, which was wonderful.
The vineyard views live up to the pictures on the website.
If we return to the Santa Inez Valley, this cottage will definitely be on our list.

Magical location!
Publié le 13 oct. 2023 sur HomeAwayOur stay at the Chuda’s lovely cottage was fantastic! Jim and Nancy are very attentive and accommodating hosts. The cottage is charming and views of the vineyards spectacular! We felt like we were in Europe! The Santa Ynez Valley has so much to offer and I highly recommend staying here if you are coming to this beautiful area. We will definitely be back in the future!

We were so lucky to have Johanna and Paul as our guests. What an attractive couple and the car they arrived in was amazing. A Porche Speedster double Wow!!
They came out and when they got into their car they looked like a scene from a movie.
The best part for us was a fresh made loaf of wheat bread. They own Pavel's Bakery in Pacific Grove and that loaf was devoured in two days down to the crumbs.
Now we are hooked on their bread and they are looking forward to returning to the Carriage House in the Vineyard...and we can't wait to see them again.
