Main River Mermaid Sleeps 8 kayaks for everyone. Gulf access for scalloping

Main River Mermaid is a 1432 sq ft house with 3 bedrooms (upstairs), 1 and 1/2 bath, home directly on the Weeki Wachee River and around the corner from hospital hole. Prime location!
This home has an oversized screened in porch just steps from jumping in, launching kayaks or taking off on your boat. This porch area has a table that sits 6 and also 2 couches with 2 chairs. Do some early morning yoga or just enjoy the beauty of the river as manatees, otters, and all types of fish swim by. If you're lucky you just might see Chip the dolphin as you enjoy your morning coffee. You can't ask for a better place to people watch.
This area tends to be the favorite spot of past guests who spend hours enjoying the river, nature preserve and all it has to offer while they grill out.

Paddle up river to find the preserve untouched and just amazing, If you take an early morning kayak trip you just might see the deer crossing the river.
You can also paddle to Rogers Park and stop at Upper Deck for lunch.  
If you are adventurous, you can explore old Florida which is where the Weeki Wachee River and Mud River join.

Bringing your boat? You'll have access to the boat ramp at Roger's Park not far from the house. We have 2 docks that can accommodate 2 boats which is perfect for scallop season or just a fun filled weekend.

The surrounding area has so much to offer, Njoy Spirits Distitary, Pine Island (beautiful sunsets), Bayport Pier (good fishing), Linder Pendersen Park (great lookout tower) are some of many.
You'll be 56 miles from Bush Gardens, Tampa Airport and downtown Tampa, Florida. Disney World in Orlando is 91 miles away.
Lego Land in Winter Haven, FL is 69 miles away.
If you're looking for closer trips enjoy Crystal River downtown area, Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks, Clearwater Beach, and Dunedin downtown or Honeymoon Island for breath taken beaches.

Things to Consider when searching other locations!
1. Is the home directly on the main Weeki Wachee River? if not, the canals can be murky.
2. Is there a screen room for everyone to enjoy protecting you from yellow fly season and no-see-ums?
3. Are the Owners committed to your perfect visit and great experience?

When choosing a vacation for your friends and family, please consider the above questions.

As with any home on the water there's no lifeguard on duty and you will be swimming, kayaking, and boating at your own risk.

FYI - This home is not a party house. Neither the Owners or the Neighbors will allow excessive visitors or noisy partying.
There are security cameras on the outside of the house for everyone's protection.

Great vacation!

Rainy season unfortunately troubled the water so we did not get clear water as on pictures but we understand that this is out of renter's control :-) Fantastic and friendly service (Thank you Summer!), property greatly stocked, beds super large and comfortable. Near beaches, that was great!

Host was very helpful and accommodating for our stay at the mermaid house, house was clean, welcoming and very well situated on the river to do a lot of manatee and boater watching, beds were very comfortable. All in all this was a great stay for us trqveling from seattle to weeki wachee.

Stunning home- just beautiful. Loved everything about it, so tastefully decorated and clean. Kitchen is beautiful and fun to cook in.Comfortable beds. Screened in porch was wonderful, with a great tv. Kayaks in great shape that were easy to get in and out of the water with the steps. We used the fire pit every night and sat around it in comfortable chairs. Karen is a very kind and thoughtful owner who responds immediately. Just a perfect vacation for us,

What a truly hidden gem. This property is amazing. I can not wait to get back. Right on the river. This was the perfect place to be. We went simming right off the back dock. Kayaks were in great shape and easy to just launch right out your back door. I can go on and on about this house. The large screened in porch was amazing for movies and people watching. Kitchen had everything we need to make meals at home. Beds were so comfortable and clean. I highly recomend this house. You will fall in love with it.

We loved our stay! The house was perfect for the 6 of us! We spent 4 full days just hanging out at the house swimming and kayaking up and down the river. We also loved the screened in patio. We brought an outdoor fan with us and it helped us stay cool in the July heat if we weren’t in the water. Karen was very helpful and quick to respond if we had any questions. We will definitely be back.

Loved it!

We absolutely loved our stay here. We visited weeki wachee for the first time last year but stayed in an Airb bnb in the canals. The water was darker and we could not see through it like we could on the main river. This house includes steps for easy access into the river and a dock that the kids all used to jump into the water. There is a swing with a cover that my my dad really enjoyed. As early risers would fix our coffee and sit on the swing and deck and watch for morning manatees! I was surprised how many manatees we saw! I thought they moved out of the springs during the hot month to seek cooler, less crowded water but we saw them daily. Multiple sightings with mama and babies! We also managed to see a little otter occassionally dipping in and out of the water. The screened in porch was great to eat in and escape some evening bugs. The house was adorably rennovated. Only one of the bedrooms has a tv but that didnt seem to bother the kids much, they were pretty tired by the end of the day. The laundry room has a massive washer and dryer. The kitchen had everything we needed including a crockpot. We loved our stay here. Staying on the main river is a must. The experience is very different than the canals. Even my dad ( a homebody) enjoyed the location. Would definitely stay again!

What a great place to stay with all the amenities of home and being able to enjoy the beautiful river view from the back porch and yard, paradise for sure. Karen and Alex are excellent hosts and are always available to assist with any questions or issues. Also, it's really cool to see dolphins and manatees swimming in the river. We rented a go boat and that made it a nice way to see the river at a leisurely pace. Can't wait for our next adventure at this river home.

Exactly as described!

Everything was stellar! Porch is where we found ourselves most of the time, it is huge and very accommodating! Not to mention the water just off the dock is plenty deep for a plunge! All appliances and AC in perfect working order! Can't wait to return and possibly even rebook this same location!
