Do not stay here! I am an international traveler, backpacker, and am used to some rough accommodations, but this stay was truly awful. My friend and I booked the space for a weekend, despite reading the previous reviews, thinking it could not be that bad. The house was overwhelmingly musty, there was mold up into the windowsills, the carpeting felt damp to walk on, and least of all the beds were hard and uncomfortable. We left after one night. It felt like a health hazard to be there. Neither of us have allergies to mold, but both of us woke up with headaches feeling it was hard to breathe inside. True to the description: the house and linens were visibly neat, some appliances broken, check in was easy, and the host was pleasant. There is only sulfur water, and you will smell that across the house if you shower, but that is no fault of the host, who does provide bottled drinking water in the fridge. I have never written such a negative review of anywhere that I have stayed, but this house seriously needs to be inspected and deep cleaned before it is even ok for guests. Do not stay!

My husband and I stayed here 2 nights to attend a wedding. We were traveling with our 2 small dogs. The location was perfect on a dead end road around several well maintained homes but with lots of privacy. The inside was deplorable! The carpet was stained and dirty every surface was sticky. When we turned on the hot water a rotten egg smell came from the faucet. First we thought it was from the broken garbage disposal however the smell came from the hot water in every sink. There was stuff jammed into the cabinets the coffee make didn't work and the filter in the air freshener was filthy. We would have stayed somewhere else but we couldn't find another place close in time for the wedding we were attending. This listing should be removed until this place is completely cleaned and the hot water tank replaced.

I booked this property at the last minute for only one night and should have paid more attention to the recent reviews. There are a number of appliances with signs on them saying they didn't work, the lights would not turn on and it was not clear that there were clean linens provided. I didn't feel that I could comfortably stay there overnight. I quickly assessed the property and left without staying overnight due to the condition of the property.

The host was super responsive and lovely, but the rental unit itself was not the most pleasant experience. It was raining when we arrived, and the carpet of front entrance was wet. There are also stains in many places on the carpet, which isn't the most welcoming sight. The entire rental had a mildewy smell, and when we would use the hot water a sulfur smell arose.

The property was very private. Area was very scenic and great for outdoor activities.

We had two dogs with us, so the condition of the carpwt was actually a relief. I wasn't stressed out worrying about my dogs having an accident. Otherwise, the house was clean and had plenty of towels and supplies. We are planning on renting again.

I was looking for something that wouldn’t break the bank for a night away with a few of my friends. This house couldn't have been more perfect! It was much bigger than what the pictures showed, the rooms were beautiful, there were plenty of basic necessities. And a huge deck out back where we all watched the stars for a few hours. Definitely one of the cutest places I’ve been. There was a slight smell but she disclosed that in the description of the house, after a while it was barely noticeable. We would definitely book again!

The house is older so has a musty smell, we brought some candles so that was fine. I suggested to the owner to put curtains in all windows and to get a new coffee pot so she said she would do that. The owner was great to work with and we will visit again!

We stayed in February and were using the house to go skiing at Jiminy Peak which is about 10-15 minutes away. The property was described as vintage as I expected, but I was not ready for how worn out the place was which made our stay very uncomfortable. While the place was generally clean there were stains throughout the carpets, walls, and doors. The house also had a musty odor. The ceilings were painted sloppily and were still stained. The water is undrinkable and full of rust. The rust odor from the water permeates the house when using the shower. The shower head in the master bath is not enjoyable for a shower. There were other issues such as the decor on the walls, the broken furniture, and the bird seed all over the floor in one of the closets. The coffee maker does not work right as previously mentioned, the dishwasher is broken, the wood stove was off limits, and the house was very cold when we arrived. We arrived after a rain storm and there was a flood the entire length of the walkway up to the house, and the long dirt road up to the house was difficult to travel in wet muddy conditions without four wheel drive. There are also no local channels on the television to get weather reports. On a positive note, the owner did fix the hot water issue as the shower temperatures were fine, the house did eventually heat up to a comfortable temperature, and the owner was responsive to my emails. The flood on the walkway receded after a day. The very large window in the living room was nice to look out. I wish I could be more positive, but I feel more could have been done to make guests feel more comfortable in this house even on a budget. I can appreciate the owner wanting to keep the house and make some money, but this place is just not ready for renting.
