Regal Retreat: Cabin 1. As seen on HGTV's Renovation Resort Season 1
Regal Retreat is the perfect family getaway. Waterfront on the Trent River, this beautiful cottage was featured on HGTVâs Renovation Resort Season 1. The cottage sleeps 13 guests in 3 bedrooms and a flex loft space. Spend your vacation feeling like royalty relaxing in the private hot tub and on the private dock. Regal Retreat is on a private road with six other cabins that share a beach and fire pit. The cottage's large open concept kitchen will accommodate the whole family for shared meals and family game night. Regal Retreat is available for booking all year round.
This was our second year spending 4 nights at this property. We had a hiccup with a new cabin being built next door but everything was handled perfectly. Ron is always great and so caring. He remembered us from last year and he made sure to always check in on us. We look forward to coming back hopefully as a yearly trip.
We enjoyed our stay in Cabin 1. It is the first cabin located right next to the beach and fire pit. There is a private dock which was great for fishing and the water was clean. Ron the property manager was helpful whenever we had questions and he was up early in the morning to clean the water of weeds and rake the beach.
We we first arrived, the cleaner was just finishing up as they had a group leave earlier that morning. Overall the place was very clean, though the towels were not the best quality so I recommend bringing your own bath towels.
The beds were very comfortable. The AC is located in the front entrance of the main floor and upstairs outside the bedrooms. The bedrooms got a bit warm with the doors closed at night, it would be beneficial to add fans to the bedrooms.
The main floor bedroom has a closet that houses the hot water heater which made some noise at night, though not too disruptive.
The pull out couch is not a very comfortable mattress, perhaps suitable for a child but not an adult. That room does not have curtains and faces east so is very bright in the morning.
The dining table was perfect for a big group and there was lots of outdoor furniture to watch dinners on the deck. The deck is in shade for the later afternoon and evening which made it a perfect setting for dinners outside.
The kitchen had everything we needed and there is a nice big pantry to store your food.
Overall it was a great stay and we hope to return next year.
