The EconoLodge in Champaign Urbana was an untenable, stressful experience. The walls are extremely thin, I was given a room on the first floor with an adjoining room which was occupied by someone who screamed at someone on the phone for hours on end, keeping me up until 3 in the morning. I complained to the desk multiple times and they assured me they would ask her to quiet down, but she didn’t. The room was dirty, the sheets were stained, and a single roll of toilet paper was provided in lieu of tissues. The desk staff were kind enough to refund me for my remaining nights, but I would not recommend booking this hotel.

Clean but no frills

I didn’t expect much from this hotel and that’s exactly what we got. The desk attendant at check in and first thing this morning acted like it was an inconvenience to assist me. He had said he would make new coffee but never did! Plus there were no cups. The food vending machine was basically empty. The gentleman that came in for the day shift was much more pleasant and helpful. The lobby and hallways had a weird odor. Our room did not. It was clean and the bed comfortable . So - if you want just a clean bed to sleep in, book a stay. If you want anything more, find somewhere else.
