How close is VLC HOST - Eixarchs 5 to downtown Valencia?
The apartment was absolutely perfect as a base to explore the lovely city of Valencia. It was right in the middle of the historic old town , a few minutes stroll to the central market . It was very clean and well equipped and we enjoyed having breakfast or drinks on the large terrace - an added bonus!
There are plenty of cafes , bars and restaurants within walking distance .
It's an easy city to navigate on foot and you can walk to the beach in about an hour though a taxi journey is cheap and quick !
I rent a lot on VRBO and have never given a poor rating before this one. However, this place was just not good. I was surprised because two previous travelers gave this place a rating of "10". Not sure who they are or where they stayed, but the apartment we stayed at was nothing close to a "10" rating. The photos make this look like a charming clean apartment. However, there was mold in the dishwasher, the baseboards in the upstairs bathroom were so water damaged that they were falling apart and looked moldy. The couch is so old and uncomfortable that you could not sit on it. When I went to take a shower upstairs the drain was clogged and the water started to run out onto the floor so I had to immediately stop showering with soap in my hair. This is obviously not new since the baseboards in the bathroom are water damaged. We all used the downstairs shower after that. Finally, my friend touched the side of the sink while filling her water bottle and received an electrical shock. I sent the owner a message about that - which the owner did not really seem to want to hear, saying "well nobody told me about that." I suggested an electrician be called because it was dangerous - don't know if that ever happened. Renter beware.
