I was visiting Winnipeg with my father for a funeral. We wanted to be able to cook some of our own meals and have places to walk to.The neighborhood was great, nice walks, including to basic shopping - a small east Indian grocery store and other amenities were close by. The people we met while walking were lovely, the neighborhood is multi cultural - which we love! The place itself seems like a fairly new place and is sparsely furnished, the kitchen had minimal possibilities for cooking - no sharp knife/cutting board (I bought a knife and left it there for future customers) there were pots but they didn't work on the convection stove (I think due to the material they were made from, the stove was smart enough to not allow the element to heat up. We were exhausted and hungry when we arrived, and I'm proud to say that I was able to cook the pasta in a small frying pan with water in it! (Who knew?). There were no hangers in the closet so I bought some of those too. There was only a couch to sit on - no table, chair or bedside tables. The lights were too bright and the windows are blocked from getting light in.My elderly father slept in the bed and said it was very comfortable. The heating/cooling system is not controlled within the unit, and our last night it was too cold.Having said all of this, we really enjoyed the area and the space was clean. The host was responsive. I recommend it, with the understanding of the limits we had to work with.
